So many bitter charlton fans on here trying to talk down the rivalry. You don't 'get it' and I don't expect you to. I wouldn't expect any team without a real rival to get it.

You'll always be the 3rd club in south London.

Game against your ‘fiercest rivals’….in the playoffs….at home…….with the chance to be on a Leo……..where else would you be?

On the Charlton board of course!

    Palace supporters are so weird!

Ha! Some are claiming that they can't sleep at night because the game is so big.

There's a link below about the game, apparently the rivalry started because the two managers were team mates at Spurs, how small time is that?! Any rivalry that takes more than a sentence to example isn't legit.

Lol you sound like you know something about rivalry. But you don't.

The Police are already there in force outside the ground - lots of Police vans up the Holsmdale road.
Seriously though, this is a load of old boll*x. OTT policing again.

Why are you on a Charlton site now!?

Should be getting your facepaint and foam hand ready for a night full of songs from Sister Act and McDonalds with thousands of other special people from Surrey...
And charltons own plastic Danny dyer opens his mouth. Do you not get embarrassed when you read your own posts? Shocking.

You bring shame on the good people of Kent.

Based on a level playing field of all 3 clubs being in the Championship, the ground attendancies for the season just go to prove who is the biggest fish in South London. With that huge catchment area of Surrey, your attendance figures are shocking. Pathetic fan base, joke club.

Your own gaffa doesn't get it,your star loanee striker doesn't get it, your new generation of fans don't get it. It's a dwindling rivalry fabricated out of sweet FA.

Why on earth when you have Millwall on your doorstep and almost a dozen clubs within the capital would you create a rivalry with a team on the coast? Were your super hooligans of the past too much for the London firms? I mean, you are the same as Leeds and Cardiff in the hoolie stakes are you not? Or is it that literally no one could be bothered with you so you had to look elsewhere?

We don't care that no one 'hates' us (though plenty of your fans seem to). We hate you,get over it.

Every football fan is talking down your rivalry because a) no one gets it, it makes NO SENSE and b) it's palace and brighton, hardly rangers v celtic is it.

The funny thing is, even though you are a bigger club than Millwall in terms of attendance, you're still the third club. The forgotten club.

If you say Millwall people say hooligans.

If you say Charlton people say I always think of you as a prem team.

If you say Palace, people say who?

We played them at the two worst times in our season, that's all I can think of. At first when we started to struggle with the step-up and then during January-February when we couldn't hold leads to save our lives.

Rubbish we were class that day, the first half was the most dominiant I have ever seen us against either of the scum

Stop getting bitchy. If you don't want to read home truths then don't visit CHARLTON life.

Charlton have spent far longer in the top flight than Palace & Millwall, hold the record attendance in S London and have actually won a major trophy.

And have the highest average attendance.

It's often very difficult to describe what makes one club "bigger" than the other. But by any reasonable metric you can think of (number of fans, trophies, time in top flight, calibre of stadium, record transfer fee paid) Charlton are quite clearly and unarguably the biggest club in South London. Not necessarily the best, I'm reasonable enough to accept that changes over time and Palace finished ahead of us over 46 games. But if Maestro literally meant that we are the "smallest" of the three SE clubs I'd love for him to justify this point by using evidence, as I have.

Palace's biggest game in years, a Friday night, a home match against their biggest rivals with all left to play for, then out with your mates after... In fact no, I know what I'll do. I'll log on Charlton Life. Maestro, you are one fucking weirdo.

We may supposedly not know what a rival it but unlike you lot, I know what an ultra is. Your fans and club are a laughing stock whilst Millwall make their own jokes every 4 weeks. I'd rather be a trainspotting supporter of little old Charlton who have no rivals, than either of you no-mark, laughable, pathetic excuses for clubs.

Nothing better to do but go on another team's forum and supports the biggest laughing stock in the football league.

    Good post.

Why would you come on here after playing your "rival" in a playoff semi? He's angry that he hates us more than Brighton.

As Palarse have lost Murray and Brighton is a tough ground to go to, I think they are up against it. Their chance was to get a victory in the home leg. Gutted for them!!!!!!

looking forwards to sailing past them next season LOL.
