Found a micropub run by a Charlton fan and his wife while in Dover - the Staggered Inn was lots of fun. Say hello to Jay and Serena if you're ever down there...

Sad to see the Plum Tree close, did you see that news Inspector? I thought it was doing well as always people in when we passed by. But they took on the shop next door to turn in to a deli and I think financially it was too much. A shame really.

I did - it sounds a messy situation but it's a real shame.

As I passed today, looked like the Orange Tree in Dartford Hawley Road has re-opened after a refurb….
  • Went to Enderby House in Greenwich on Saturday night for a drink. Good location with impressive views and a lot quieter than central Greenwich.

    Was nice to sit outside.

Well I’m damned, I can’t believe I’ve not heard of this place before.
I really must give it a look in next time I’m down, if it’s anything like as interesting as the pictures I have just seen, then it’s definitely going on my list of things to do.

They have done a good job converting it - not a bad place for a drink.

Only knew it was there, as one of the UpBeats walk was 10 miles and we walked down towards the tunnel and around the river front.

Evidently a group of ex Prem players have booked it for a get together.
Possibly something to do with the explayers association.

was there on a cold wet afternoon at end of January, seems the new pub opened in 2021. It used to be inside the Alcatel site until most of it sold to Barrats homes.
Thought at the time of visiting it would be a good place in the summer.

Enderby House has been going since Summer 2021.  If I remember correctly, I may even have bumped into @Curb_It the first time I was there around that time. If the sun’s out, it’s a great place to spend a few hours and the food is pretty decent too. Big inside area too and a few private rooms, which may be what the ex-players have booked.

    Yes you did Tel.

I was there a few Sundays ago when we had that lovely  warm weekend, sitting outside.  I do like the pub, it's just a bit pricey, it being a Youngs pub and all... but they have done a good job. And it is a lovely spot to sit outside and people watch.

It's not cheap but it is a nice place to sit and not too busy. A good place to watch the world go by....

This may sound obvious but if the wind is blowing up the thames the enderby arms and its outside space are very exposed. Don't sit outside even if its sunny and sit as far away from the doors as possible.

You can pretty much always get a table for sunday lunch booking on the day and its decent.

Lovely place on a sunny (not windy) day

Doesn’t look like my sort of gaff and it’s Youngs so no doubt double expensive. But a pubs better than no pub 😐

Google shows the pub as being "permanently closed", but I'm not sure if that's the case or if it's just being deliberately run down erratically run.

Thought the Who'd closes at funny times. Pretty sure it closes at 8pm on a Saturday for example

@ElfsborgAddick - I’m sure living in Brazil is amazing on so many levels, but the pubs look absolutely shocking!

Pubs are virtually non-existent, and as you say, absolutely shocking!

As you say @se9addick but at least I could put my flag up on the day we played them last year.

    This is my local.
