I'm hearing good reports of the new Wetherspoons at London Bridge station, can anybody confirm.
Apparantly, given the area and a station spoons being not as cheap as in the high street, it is reasonably priced.
I’ve not been - but my mate is a big fan.
Not least because he thinks it will piss off the moany old bag in the Shipwrights.

Only been in The Shipwrights about twice but thought it was a great boozer, although will swerve it now as it has a spoons as a neighbour.
What sort of person swerves a proper pub for a spoons. No wonder this thread exists
I won't drink in the shipwrights, was that the pub where Charlton fans was chucked out for being loud, not pissed, after the playoff final.

    No, Wheatsheaf I think
    Yep, was The Wheatsheaf.

And they didn't chuck out Charlton fans. They actually shut the whole pub. Absolutely ridiculous.

Popped in the Richard 1 in Greenwich today for lunch with my daughter.

Food was nice, but it was more like a creche than a pub, with kids screaming and their parents not telling them to shut the fuck up.

Not that I’ve heard but I saw a cryptic comment from the landlord of the Pelton on a mate’s insta post about the pub which got my hopes up. But not seen anything since.

Correct. Bank holiday weekend and they just said fuck it we are closing. Charlton fans very well behaved apart from some jolly singing. Market porter etc closed them selves off too. Thank goodness Southwark Tavern up the top had the sense to keep letting anyone and everyone in.

COME ON NOW, There are lots of people who desire nothing more than eating a steak so dense light bends around it or a roast that would make a homeless person at christmas say "nah your alright, ill see what KFC throws in bins later".

Also you undersetimate the value of a show with your drink, where else would you be able to see a a family of 14 all decked out in their finest Sport's Direct tracksuits with 12 kids who all have names that are a variation on "Kenzie, Kenzo, Dane etc", stare at ipads whilst their parents polish off their 4th WKDs at 1.45pm on a tuesday afternoon. Whilst some would prefer to pay £1 or 2 more a pint to have a more sophisticated experience surrounded by fellow intellectuals to discuss current events, politics and the latest developments in the STEM field. No judgement though guys.

Bizarre that publicans complain about industry then turn away well behaved customers. Especially on a playoff day when most will realise its transient.

The Dickie 1 / Tolly was a great pub until its conversion to a restaurant. Spent many many nights down there.

You can't use language like that to Tarquin, Tristram and Annabelle, could scar them for life.

Was in there after the second Sunderland game....don't recall anyone getting chucked out though we were drinking outside the pub itself.

You know what, I'm fairly certain I heard the name Annabelle being used for one of the kids. In between screams.

And it's more than "£1 or £2 more".  Particularly in a lot of them between Monday and Wednesdays when the spoons do promotions.
One of my mates has CAMRA vouchers and he can get a pint for around £1.50 :)  I have told him to save some for me when I'm over in March.
