Great North Run

I've just got a place in this years Great North Run,has anyone on here done this run and can recommend anywhere to stay?

    I stayed at Durham University. Great place to stay in the old castle. Was arranged through a running agency, sorry can't recall who it was. Will look and see if I have the details anywhere.

    The run itself is brilliant.

    I have run it each year since 2009! I often stay at Premier Inn. You will see that they all show 'fully booked' unless you put in a two day stay and then some rooms often show as available.
    I have also relied on last minute cancellations for them!
    This year I am driving up on the day at present (not recommended though!!)
    Also, the universities do cheap dorm rooms if that helps!!
