Just walked through Leadenhall Market. The New Moon is empty yet opposite is a queue of 30 people waiting for a £6 salad pot....
The city is a soulless place as a result of the £6 salad pot. I wonder how our economy sustains the many coffee/sandwich chains. It seems to be the most prevalent form of business in London. Then all of a sudden someone comes along with a new take on a sandwich, like wrap it up, yet we mindlessly flock toward it like it's something ground breaking. It's basically another sandwich place, the bread simply being replaced by a wrap
People attempt to be healthier at the start of the week though-walk past on a Thursday or Friday lunchtime and the New Moon, Lamb and all the other pubs around there will be packed.
I used to work in publishing, Friday lunchtimes were basically 2 or 3 pints. Stroll back to the office & basically mess about on the Internet until it was time to go home!

Used to be our home pub in the City darts league for a few years.
When they totally replace pubs in the homogeneous soulless society we live then I hope the population are happy.
