10th wedding anniversary this weekend and am looking for a decent resturant. Don't want anything too fancy. Just a reasonably priced easy to get a table at type of place.
Cafe du Soleil in Canterbury is very good if that far into Kent - all Charcoal grill/stonebaked type food and cooked to perfection. The lamb is awesome.
Purely going on a friends recommendation as haven't been there myself yet, but he was raving about Buenos Aires in Blackheath Village after his missus took him there on his birthday.

Buenas Aires is excellent. Difficult to get a table at the weekend unless you book early, although you can usually stroll up and get an outside table if the weather's nice.
Buenas Aires in Blackheath is excellent, you should be able to book a table if you do it today, otherwise Hawksmoor as others have suggested, Regent Street is my pick of the ones.
Gaucho's in the O2. It's not cheap, but no doubt you can peruse prices online. Personally, I don't like too much attention from waiters/waitresses, but you get it there. Being a pleb, it's the only place I've been to where they actually bring out the steak before they cook it, for you to choose/approval. Like I say it makes me uncomfortable, but I'm certain many customers would love that type of thing.
Hawksmoor Air Street (Piccadilly) is pick of the Hawksmoor bunch for me. But all of them are good!
Flat Iron on Beak Street in Soho for something an excellent variation on the theme. No reservations though and so you may have to queue a bit.
Meat Liquor, Meat Mission and Red Dog Saloon are brilliant burger/grill/BBQ places and prices are very reasonable. Meat Liquor does not operate a reservation policy either.
Marco Pierre White's London Steakhouse & Co restaurant off the Kings Road. Groupon and Lastminute.com deals on at the moment for 2/3 course meals starting at £33 for 2 people with free champagne cocktails. I went a couple of weeks; excellent food and posh named restaurant that the wife can brag to girlie mates about...........and you come out of it looking like a superstar!

Buenos Aires is slightly more scenic though
