I'll be popping along to this one.0

Might go to this. I expect it will mainly U21s (those that didn't go to Spain and the six that recently turned pro) plus a few U18s and/or trialists.0
-
3G pitch. Nice ground and a decent bar as well.0
-
32c tomorrow as well0
-
£8 At the turnstiles. Expecting a crowd apparently. Wonder how many know it isn't the first team.0

Definitely going, with a pal: will get off the train at New Hythe and walk the five miles along the bank of the Medway to the ground, which is near the river in the centre of town. On the way, will look at the old friary at Aylesford and have a sherbet at the Little Gem, centuries old and reputed to be Kent's smallest pub. Weather is set to be a scorcher.0

Tidy little ground the Gallagher. Don't stand at the far end if you have a weak bladder though0

I believe the Little Gem is closed I will check on way home this eve as I go past it. also a chunk of the Tow path is closed between Aylesford village to Travis perkins and a lot of it extremely overgrown.Viewfinder said:Definitely going, with a pal: will get off the train at New Hythe and walk the five miles along the bank of the Medway to the ground, which is near the river in the centre of town. Many thanks for the useful tips, Vinnie V - I've just checked www.beerintheevening.com, which confirms your belief: Little Gem reported closed and for sale in November 2012. No matter; the Chequers, overlooking the river, gets a decent write-up in the Kent pub guide. Where abouts is the towpath closed? We were planning on the east bank between Aylesford and Maidstone. Is there a convenient diversion?Vinnie V. said:

Yep just walk through the village from the Chequers (where they serve a lovely pint of Timothy Taylors Landlord) walk along the main road and turn right immediately after the Volvo dealership back onto the towpath which has been recently relayed.0

Will Evina play, I wonder?0

Thanks for the directions, Vinnie V - and Tim Taylor's Landlord is one of my all-time favourite ales. After the game in Maidstone we'll probably do the Swan (Shep's) and the Pilot (Harvey's). Shame the Rifle Volunteers (Goacher's) doesn't open until 7.Vinnie V. said:Yep just walk through the village from the Chequers (where they serve a lovely pint of Timothy Taylors Landlord) walk along the main road and turn right immediately after the Volvo dealership back onto the towpath which has been recently relayed.

If you like your ale I'd swerve the Swan and visit The flower pot Superb range of guest ales and they know how to look after them.0
-
Great tip, VV - and I see the Flower Pot is just a stone's throw from the ground.0

Should be a decent crowd there for this one. They have a plastic pitch don't they (I'm guessing that what 3G is)??0
-
Yes; I believe someone said the Gibraltar pitch we played on is 3G, too.Brendan_O_Connell said:Should be a decent crowd there for this one. They have a plastic pitch don't they (I'm guessing that what 3G is)??

Anyone know where you can park? Their website mentions a few car parks, but there must be some street parking nearby?0
-
All permit parking around the ground. Get there early you may be able to park on the approach road, White rabbit worth a try or its town centre and walk.0

There is no free street parking near the ground. Resident only area. Town centre car parks are only a five minute walk away

Or park in the White Rabbit pub car park which is pretty much opposite the ground0

Resting up after training, match tomorrow against Maidstone ⚽ #PreSeason0 -
Last time I went to The White Rabbit you had to pay to park and if you bought something from the pub you got your money back.
For anyone coming from north east Kent remember to avoid the A249 as the Kent Show is on. This morning the traffic was pretty bad.0 -
