    Anyone that thinks that Powell has anything other than nothing to work with, and as a consequence believe he is to blame need to please, please, please, slap themselves in the face, or report to the Valley when we play Wigan for me to do it for them. .

    We only overachieved if it was generally expected before the season started that we would have a worse time of it than actually transpired. I do not think it was generally expected we would have had that much worse a season than transpired, bearing in mind that finishing position in the league is not the only criterion for this.

    Genuine question, if they put a new three year deal (with say a modest increase) do you think he'd sign it in the current conditions ?

    Exactly. I think Powell could've signed an extension a long time ago, but wants the player situation sorted first.
