Summary

Charlton began the 13/14 season with defeat to newly-promoted Bournemouth. Goals in both halves from Lewis Grabban succumbed the Addicks to their first away defeat on the opening day of the season since West Ham in 2006. Charlton seemed lacklustre throughout and had little complaints with the defeat. Bradley Pritchard was sent off late in the game due to a late tackle. Kermorgant opened his account for the season with a delightful left foot volley following a deflected Wiggins cross.
