I'd like to thank whoever picked Geoff Thomas, for providing one of the greatest comedy football moments of all time.
  • Carlton Palmer, Geoff Thomas.

Here it is. He learned that at Palace you know ;-)
  • Rickets without a doubt
  • Has to be Michael Ricketts. Didn't he only play 45 minutes of that game against the Netherlands?

Not sure how anyone can vote Jeffers or Nugent when they actually scored in the only game they had.
  • Nugent goalsnatched his from an inch out!

Agree with that in principle, not sure Nugent can take a great deal of credit for hammering it home from on the goal line when it was already going in though.
  • Steve Guppy is a good call and so is Ricketts.

Disagree about Alan Thompson, thought he was a very tidy player.

  • Andy Hinchcliffe

  • Cleverley reckon he a lucky boy
  • Scott Carson

    Didn't see that...
  • Joey Barton

great minds .. think alike (:->)
  • Glen Johnson is embarrassing.
  • Zaha will probably get more chances to impress, but if he plays like he did last night, he'll be in this group
  • Lots of good calls here. I will tell you what though, a lot of these players were VERY good for their clubs and held in high regard by the fans there. But probably not international class. I wonder if Chris Powells name would come up if this question were asked on another message board?...........
  • Oh and if Stewart Downing were right footed, he wouldnt have won a cap.
  • Henderson.

Well obviously they were good for their clubs, as that's what earned them their call ups.

It probably would simply because he was called up out of the blue and was well into his thirties. Regardless of performance, neutrals will just remember him as the old bloke who played for Charlton in relation to his England time and will base judgement on that alone.

We all watched his performances closely of course and know full well that he did a decent job when called upon. He shimmied past Pep Guardiola on more than one occasion!
  • he nutmegged Guardiola about 20 mins into his debut at Villa Park

Not necessarily. There's plenty of players, many with a stack of International Caps, who wouldn't have got a look in if they played for a Wigan, Hull, QPR, Bradford, Palace or us!

Walcott played for England before Arsenal didn't he?

Absolutely. Look at what these jokers have to say: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1212261/THE-LIST-20-11-worst-England-international-footballers.html
  • Jokers, don't know what there talking about!! Have to agree with the rest on there though.
  • Michael Ball was behind Chris Powell for the right back berth was he? Must have been crap
  • Jordan Henderson.

    Scott Carson

Has to be this for what happened.

I blame McClown for that one. He gave Paul Robinson a game in a friendly a few weeks earlier for no apparent reason. If Carson had played for England before Croaita, his confidence would have been completely different.

Dean Ashton is completely wrong. He would have won many more caps if injury had permitted.

    David Nugent gets my vote.
