Summary

Charlton's disappointing start to the season continued with a dismal home defeat to Boro. Charlton looked lethargic throughout and never really got going. Jonathon Woodgate marshalled the Boro defence effectively and the Addicks never really looked like scoring; a 20-yard dipping Danny Green effort was well parried by Steele and was Charlton's only real effort. Boro's winner was a soft goal, with Hamer stranded in no-man's land from an arial ball, and Jutkiewicz easily headed home. Grim.
