Any investors that know what they're doing would keep Chris Powell.
He's a good manager, he's right for this club, and he's going to become a very good manager.
Paul Hart? He's one of the best around at developing young players. Extend his contract and keep him where he is.
Don't think someone like Poyet would be an improvement.

A lot of people answer a different question. It's about Powell or investment not liquidation/nuclear war or investment. Different things.
Of course, it's tricky. Is it a Man City change the world type investment or a tidy few quid with strings of lunacy attached (Pompey/Birmingham)? Actually, for me it doesn't matter. I like our current team, I love our manager. I prefer the notion of punching above our weight and eventually getting in to the Premiership on merit and based on organic growth, youth development and excellent management to just purchasing success and being swamped with plastics, like our mates over in Chelsea.0 -
About 6 years ago, there were a lot of people who wanted us to shift Curbishley out the door and bring in somebody new so that we could 'move onto the next level'.
Had we not made that move, then it is very likely that we would have not gone anywhere near League One and maybe even the Championship. Classic example of how changing of personnel at a club can often be much more detrimental than any kind of movement in the finances.
Successful businesses are built around people, not money. Yes, there needs to be a stable backing to keep the I's dotted and T's crossed, but we would absolutely plummet straight back into League One in no time at all without Chris Powell.0 -

The club would not remain debt free very long if Powell was replaced by a mug who spent money for fun! (no names) And who's to say that new owners would pay off all the old debts?
To me the real question is how much would it really cost above and beyond our current losses to push in to the top 6 and give us a 25% chance of promotion. I have no idea but it is a lot less than the likes of QPR and Southampton spent.
With the right backing a manager like Chris Powell has just as much chance as anyone of getting us into the top 6 which is the next level for us and he deserves that chance. He signed this whole squad and is busy signing extensions so imagine the impact on the first team and the academy... and the cost of that impact... if a new owner changed management.
As far as I am concerned we are half way through getting back to the Premier League and I back the management and players who have got us this far... no conditions, no excuses, no analysis, just back the team.
Based on what I saw last week and last season we just need the right additions at the right time and a healthy bit of luck to make progress up the league.
Sometimes the best results are based on making the most of what is available and I do not want to go back to the days of watching CAFC players on £500K+ a year get relegated twice in three years. So I say invest in what we have now.0 -

Investment is the wrong word to describe the pouring of dosh into the black hole that is an English Championship club. If someone is willing to do that it will simply take us further along a path and nobody knows where that path is leading.
Powell is part of what makes this club. We aren't Man City and won't be in my lifetime if ever.

I would have to say, investment. Managers come and go but the continued well being of our club is paramount. But I would like Powell to be kept on if we get new owners. It would be good if he could carry on the good work he has started.0

Tough decision, I love Chris Powell but I'm not sure how long the club can continue to lose this much money. That's not Chris' fault in the slightest but if the choice was secure the club for generations to come or keep the manager it has to be the club. But hopefully we can have both, I think any new investor would see the benefit of keeping such a wonderful asset to the club.

Don't get me wrong, I would be furious if Powell got the sack but at the end of the day if an opportunity of large investment came in with our debts cleared and we have a promising future ahead of us then its the club we got to think about and not 1 man we admire.0 -

Of course its valid. There may come a time in the nine too distant future when a potential investor comes in and wants to bring his own team. One of his key advisors maybe a football man who fancies the job. MS TJ and their backers may have decided to cut their losses.PragueAddick said:
