    I might watch Wales.

    Churchie might play!

Wales already 1 down in Macedonia (30 mins gone) Bellamy just hit the post from a free kick.

Tom, I'm serious. Rather watch a game where at least some football might be played, the last few England matches have bored me. Pleased that a "journeyman" footballer like Lambert is playing, but Lampard and Gerrard in midfield, again ?

1-1 half time (Wales/Mac), Bellamy losing it with a couple of their players.
    Bale sitting on the bench.

Bellamy only losing it with a couple of players!?......he must be feeling ill as he normally does it with everyone.

Okay....other than England v Scotland, most of the other England games have been tedious........

England will win comfortably without getting into top gear. There'll be more exciting things to watch on TV tonight but that doesn't mean I'll be watching that instead. :-)

Was going to try some smart-ass reply but then saw "Clara" on BBC3.
    I rest my case.

Fair enough. As you say, most internationals have been a bit tedious lately .
At least with Who, you'll enjoy it.

Not sure if you've watched much Chelsea lately but Lampard has been superb. He was very good against Scotland as well.

The Gerrard/Lampard debate was a load of old pony anyway, seeing as they were surrounded by players like Milner, they were used in the wrong system and they didnt have Wilshere alongside them.

Not critising either Lampard or Gerrard (in fact I remember a game at The Valley where Gerrard was basically the only player in a Liverpool shirt I noticed, one of the most outstanding performances I've ever seen in any football match), but after 2/3.....8/9 years it [Lampard/Gerrard] just ain't gonna happen. Please don't get me wrong, I used to go to England matches at Wembley, and I do want England to do well, but the standard of play and the team selection over the last few years, in my opinion, hasn't exactly had me queuing for England tickets.

God forbid I was ever put in charge of the England team, but if I was, ever squad would be picked on players who are "in form". Who ever they are.

Oh, and if any player pulled out through "injury" and then played for their club a few days later, they would be out for the next 2 matches.

    So there.

    Sorry.

Why won't it happen? Give them different roles, in a different formation, alongside better players then it can.

Lets be honest, we haven't got anyone better. Gerrard/wilshere/Lampard is a decent balance imo.

Yep, after I wrote the above I realised that 2 of the "in form" English players are, indeed, Lampard & Gerrard.
The point I was trying to make (badly) is that it seems that they can't play together, two great players, but to similar ?
Still think we're not a great football team though
  • Lampard tees up Gerrard for the opener...
  • See, Lampard to Gerrard, Goal.
    Told you.
