Summary

Charlton came away from the John Smiths Stadium empty handed for the second time in just three weeks. A poor game and an under par performance, the only encouragement came from a fine opening goal for the club from loanee Cameron Stewart, who rifled home shortly after coming on as a second half substitute for his Charlton debut. Charlton looked lost without Kermorgant leading the line, and the starting chance awarded to Sordell appeared to be a wasted opportunity. Chris Powell will know a much improved performance will be required for the forthcoming derby against Millwall.
