Mark Chandler @Mark_Chandler 5m Sunday Politics on BBC One at 11 will apparently have its report on Greenwich Council. Been looking forward to this. Retweeted by Clare Griffiths
Not much said to be honest. They played the recording of the voicemail message that Roberts left and his letter of apology for his use of language in another incident. These were the only two incidents that RBG admitted to, when the programme had asked, back in October, for details of any complaints about Roberts in the last 10 years.
The BBC said they had uncovered more, but only then produced the son of a former council cleaner, who had passed away last year. He told his mother's story of how she had interrupted him in an office one day (I may be wrong, but got the impression at one stage that he had been asleep), when she was cleaning. She had left her keys there and apologised, said she needed them back, at which he threw them at her. Her son says they were heading towards her face, she raised her hands to protect her face & they hit her wrist.
RBG stated that they held 3 meetings with the lady, during which time her story changed. Roberts attended one of those meetings. His story is that he dropped the keys over the balcony for her to catch.
He was asked to appear, but refused to or to comment other than say certain allegations are still being investigated by the Labour Party. I believe these are the first two, rather than the third story above.
The cleaner story's been going around the council for years - but what's significant is that this is the first time anyone's managed to substantiate it.
No minutes were taken, yet Roberts declares she gave him a different version of events in a meeting with her that he attended. Well he would say that wouldn't he?
On the BBC News now...I expect more exposure than the Politics Show. Surely Roberts can't keep ducking the reporters and Labour can't keep the internal investigations dragging on.

I find that very unusual. Surely you would expect minutes to be taken in something which is quite a serious complaint.
