Hmmmm... but then the Beatles would have probably carried on, and on and become like the Rolling Quo! I Iove the Stones and Quo but they both demonstrate that however creative you are, quailty work is finite.

Did the Beatles do any crap? I can't think of any.
  • Obla-di Obla-da?

    You are joking?

    Classic pop song.

Saw Macca do it live @o2 couple of years ago. Brought the house down.
  • Octopus' Garden. Now that is crap.

I am a fan of their work though.

This...at present rediscovering them (not in an Oasis way)

  • We all live in a yellow submarine...

But then we'd never have '...a team of Kermorgants'
  • I know this is tantamount to blasphemy, but I'm not a huge Beatles fan (not to the extent of Robert Elms, who actively hates The Beatles), but, at a push, I would choose Revolver and Let It Be as my favourites.
  • I think if you were a teenager in the sixties, as i was. The Beatles really appealed. They were clean cut nice lads (at the time) who done good and made largely happy simple love songs. Of course by 1967 Sgt Pepper hit the turntable and what a revolution it was.
As i grew older, whilst still being a fan of the Beatles. The Kinks moved to No1 in my affections, mainly because of the quality and Englishness of Ray Davies' writing.
  • Is it sacrilege to suggest the Beatles were over-rated?
  • I'll keep schtum then.
  • Might be sacrilege, but that doesn't stop it being true.
  • Or forget twitter and faceache and just be more tolerant of your fellow man.

NB. Smarmy Tweets do not make a decent human being.

    Good shout.

  • I wouldn't usually condone the mixing of pharmaceuticals and alcohol RC but I might give it a go, just want a decent sleep.

Gotta disagree with you there. A fantastic song, and I believe that McCartney was only mid to late teens when he wrote it.

Love it too, and it's getting closer, just 14 years to go.
