So if Slater + Jiminez sell us on now, they'll be seen as successes right and get the plaudits they deserve for turning us around?

They will in my eyes. more pro's than con's.

they, with the sale of jenkinson and shelvey funded a promotion winning side and a championship side that could easily have got into the playoffs if wed started our run just a week or 2 earlier ...

they'll be as divisive as thatcher is imo.

I don't want millions upon millions of pounds to spend (as nice as it would be). Personally, I'd want financial security i.e. debts written off, no fear of going into admin etc and a small pot of cash for transfers/wages.

We need to keep the ethos of the club, The Valley and, most importantly, Chris Powell in charge. Who knows what he could do if he had a bit more money for transfers....

The nomination has been progressed, however, it is being held pending the outcome of a report going to the Cabinet on 20th November 2013, which seeks agreement to the process to be adopted by the Council for dealing with applications under the Act.

Strange how that didn't delay the two nominations already listed as ACVs though...

True, but there are 2 bad examples:

Pompey: loads of money spent, all turned sour, now languishing down the lower leagues

Cardiff: total change of club colours (similar to Hull City's imminent name change)

Only 2 examples I know, but it can turn sour. Much like it has now for us, although with much greater debts.

The word seems to suggest American rather than British - would be good to get some more facts- but sounds like promising news for a change.

    what word ?

I'd save both the review of TJ/MS stewardship, and the keep Valley / move Valley debates until things are further down the line.

Key things of interest to me at the mo are those behind it. The British bit is the bit that throws you, though as i said earlier, that does not necessarily mean the money behind it is British.

What other ongoing interests do 'they' have, have they any previous in football ownership or other sports etc...

of course. and of course it's not that simplistic. all I'm saying is I don't think rejecting the idea out of hand is a good idea. I can't think of a set of fans who regret moving stadia. i'd need convincing but I won't say no without at least giving it due consideration.

I don't see a property co as bad news. We own a lot of land and so owners that understand the value of that can help underpin investment. I doubt if a move solution has been worked out but a recognition of increasing values in the area (AEG , IKEA etc) gives confidence. Of course options will be explored. I just hope it's a solid company with smart business sense and resources. I don't think it will be AEG. I know them well and there focus is quite narrow. Jimenez and Slater I think have done well but there focus was always short term. We need long term commitment now.

If it is linked to the Greenwhich Pennisula Development and involves a modern 40,000k stadia and the support to ensure we are successful, I'll take it. As a supporter who has been going to the Valley for over 40 years, it would be sad to leave, but if where we are going is better for our future, you have to accept it.

We shouldn't take a position until all the facts are known. I am not taking the position we should be happy to move - even if it may sound that way - It is just we need to look at the whole first.

  • only on Charlton Life people have been praying that TJ & MS go, now something is on the cards, people are pooing themselves about the motives. Chill out, I've heard it's yanks anyway not British

Yes, all the negative threads about wanting our owners out, the lack of contract offers for SCP and key players, the lack of cover for Yann up front, the terrible pitch, TJ's court case, the decimation of key backroom and office staff.... Maybe people here would be happier keeping MS and TJ :-)

Yes it's all gone very sour for Cardiff. Their fans looked absolutely devastated by the colour change when they rolled over Man City and Swansea in front of a sold out stadium earlier this season.
