Think this thread may be a little less stale now.0

An interesting article on conspiracy theories:
csnphilly.com/basketball-philadelphia-sixers/josh-harris-sixers-are-staying-philly0 -
wow!0
-
David Blitzer of private equity giants Blackstone Group possibly inolved, too?
Blitzer has been involed in both of Harris's other pro-sports buy-outs in hockey and basketball.
Both Blackstone and Apollo Global have London offices, btw.0 -
Fucking wow... Please happen!!!0

Just one question before I go to bed, GOOD or BAD?0

Depends on your attitude to moving to a swanky new ground on the peninsula, I suspect..Bolderhumphreyreid said:Just one question before I go to bed, GOOD or BAD?

That's an interesting read Weegie0

But if moving to the peninsula leaves the world a better place, who are we to argue?0

And a bit more analysing why he perhaps bought the Philadelphia 76ers - lots re building attendances:

(Would need to do a bit more research on this, but a more recent article suggests the value of the club could have doubled since he's owned it...)0 -
I notice he brought in a new head coach on day one...Weegie Addick said:And a bit more analysing why he perhaps bought the Philadelphia 76ers - lots re building attendances:

If this actually comes off - time will tell - how will people view TJ and Mr Slater?0

He needn't be starting that nonsense over here.incorruptible addick said:

@AddickUpNorth Was thinking exactly the same mate, glad I'm out all day if it's going to be a day for Guru Meditation :-0 Could be the best Christmas present we've ever had if it goes ahead and we are looked after. Dya reckon you'll be flying out of Leeds & Bradford or Robin Hood when we're in Europre? :0)AddickUpNorth said:Tomorrow's going to be mint on this thread. How will we sleep?

Comes across as a bit more thoughtful than that in the articles - not sure he would bring a "formula" but he does seem to like buying undervalued teams with potential...Guess it would depend how quickly he could work out why we are underperforming - ie lack of investment in playing squad rather than poor team management.incorruptible addick said:

Anyway, not a done deal yet...0 -
Jesus. For once in my 50 years supporting Charlton it looks as if we will actually have a pot to piss in. A very big pot. Fingers, toes, legs and eyes all crossed that this comes off.0

Leeds Bradford @ RedChaser. It's a lovely little airport and KLM fly to Schipol from there. Amsterdam and Ajax - here we come!!!!!!0

That name's been known by the media since at least the weekend. I'm surprised it's taken four days for it to surface to be honest. Interesting they are still quoting the £43m price from the summer, though. Doesn't suggest to me they have a direct source.0
-
Blimey
You kinda wonder why someone with sort of wealth would want to buy us, I guess the established PL clubs are too expensive, and our location in London gives more potential than say Doncaster...0 -
I understand there is another interested party. It has gone quiet on that front, but has it gone away?0
-
Gaaaaaaargh I don't need this right now. This would be too good to even contemplate, I'll be a broken man if it's all bollocks0

That's exactly what I was told on Tuesday by someone close to the club . There is definitely something in this .newyorkaddick said:According to Daily Mail, we are being bought by a consortium led by US banker Josh Harris:

Think I was wrong about him bringing in a new coach on day one. Getting confused between the basketball team he bought in 2011 and the hockey team he bought three months ago....

I heard this name at the game on Tuesday. Didn't say anything for obvious reasons. Fingers crossed talks are going well.0

And apparently ComCast run the Wells Fargo Centre in Philly, where the 76ers play0
