The Fog Of War as defined by Wikipedia

The fog of war is the uncertainty in situational awareness experienced by participants in military operations.[1] The term seeks to capture the uncertainty regarding one's own capability, adversary capability, and adversary intent during an engagement, operation, or campaign.

The term "fog of war" was invented by Clausewitz, a Prussian general so the clue is it the Germans

Or it just means that there is a lot of confusion, some deliberate, out there

    The latter!
  • Will the fog of war replace the mist rolling in from the Thames?
  • Or it's from the US film about Robert McNamara. Andrew Sykes make heaters, but if they did make dry ice then Robert Sykes could create a fog. Gee, thanks Airman!

I would prefer it if no clues are given. Either say who it is or say nothing at all.
  • thing is dick its no different to the Lib, well that's how I view this forum, I don't say things on here I wouldn't say to faces and its a place to pass on info with other fans , I wouldn't ask for chapter on verse on what I was told over a pint and I certainly wouldn't take it all as FACT ,

people get so hooked up on who said it and where it come from than to take the info and what is said and in which context and make their own minds up

That's an anagram of "New owners are German fridge manufacturers".

I am sure there is a clue in there, but I can't figure out what it is.

I think he used to write for 3-2-1...

Think there's probably more of a role for Eric Sykes.
  • The last takeover happened on new years eve. If it's going to happen that's when it will happen this time. Why buy now and pay December losses?

Those in the know are as follows:
You and me, Darling, obviously. Field Marshal Haig, Field Marshal Haig's wife, all Field Marshal Haig's wife's friends, their families, their families' servants, their families' servants' tennis partners, and some chap I bumped into the mess the other day called Bernard.

Is it time to put this "thread to bed" until we have some news either way ?

This is just my opinion by the way, nothing concrete or sourcey.

Thanks for the PM's chaps. You can stop sending them through now as I think I have too much information all of a sudden! Interesting stuff.

A question for the legal/business experts.

Are there any restrictions on when, ie day or time of day, when a takeover can be announced? It would be nice to have a few hours when I don't have to press the F5 button!

Hex, I'd give your fingers a well earned finger spa as I don't think you'll be hearing anything positive soon...

Thanks AFKA, I was coming to that conclusion - at least, one of my two minds was. It will be useful to know for future reference, though.
