alnwick 7 Well protected so a nice introduction and dealt well with what he had to. Wilson 8 Dealt well with his opponent as is now commonplace, and combined very well with Stewart. Morrison 8 Back to his commanding best. Dervite 7.5 Never really troubled and always enjoys passing it out. Wiggins 8 Effective at both ends. Right on top of his game again. Stewart 8.5 Very positive and willing to help Wilson. Crossing could possibly be a little more precise but little else wrong. Cousins 8 Looks so assured and mature in there, even in tight situations. Stephens 9 Thought he was excellent even apart from the outstanding goal. Jackson 7.5 Typically busy balanced performance. Kermorgant 7.5 Enjoyed the freedom in the deeper role. Be nice to see him fully fit again. Church 7.5 Nice to see his usual energy rewarded with a fine finish. Shame about the other two.

Interesting; not knocking that comment but I think just about any other keeper, especially in this division would suffer by comparison. We take Hamer's kicking for granted and give him good-natured "Deano" chants when one goes amiss but his distribution from open play really is exceptional. I'd go as far as to suggest he kicks better with his "wrong" (right) foot under pressure than some do with their favoured foot.

Cousins 8.5 - Great prospect, with Dale Stephens our best midfield pairing since Parker and Jensen! Stephens 9 - MOM. Great allround display, just hope we game keep him and Jordan in the January window! Jackson 7.5 - Good to see him back, tireless display. Kermorgant 7.5 - As Jacko good to see him back, great to see us win some balls in the air! Church 6 - Deserved his goal but what shocking misses. Like to see Sordell given a game. Won every header (almost) Wiggins 7.5 - Offered himself going forward. A threat. Stewart 8 - Some good attacking play and put in some decent crosses. Cousins 7 - Forming a very decent partnership with Dale in the middle Stephens 8.5 - MoM. Him and Duffy were the classiest players on the pitch Jackson 7 - Some good moments including a great through ball for the 2nd goal. Looked tired towards the end Kermorgant 7 - Quietish game but still quality. Some nice touches and flick ons bringing his teammates into play Church 8 - Willing, able, hard working, looked dangerous ( if only he was more clinical in front of goal )
The Ref - 10 - After the embarrassing ref we had against Leeds this one really did he job well, gave free-kicks to both sides when required, didnt stop the flow of the game and was largely invisible bar his bright yelllow top
And bar the number of pies he had eaten too! he was massive!
