    I must have watched this thing 20 or 30 times but I still crease up everytime at the bit where he walks out of the room and then comes back over the intercom to call the old geezer a c***.

    It CAN be, I would say. The example you used is hilarious, stuff like The Thick Of It makes it work - Peter Capaldi makes swearing practically a form of beautiful art. But adding swear words to otherwise unfunny lines won't suddenly make it funny, or smart. All things in moderation!
