  • 'Can I get a skinny Latte?' p off

    "Can I get", irritates me
Agreed. Sure we've done this before - for some reason it really f***s me off. I'm sure it stems from 'Friends' or some such shit.

    Basically
    In and of itself
At the end of the day

All three of these are used liberally, often bookended with 'look' and 'yeah', by the muupetry that passes for 'youth' nowadays. Every time I hear them I want to punch someone.
  • "I'm a glass half empty/full person". Why can nobody use the words optimist and pessimist anymore?
  • "I'm not a pessimist, I'm a realist"

Or in modern parlance, "I'm not a glass half empty person, I'm a person that knows how empty the glass is"
  • Yes, I eat meat.

    I'm not being foodist, but....
  • Charlton 0........

Can't believe you have all missed the worst one of all - beloved of so many in football.

    "To be fair....."

    Inane beyond belief!
  • Can I get???
I can't see anything too annoying with this phrase.

  • Coming on for X Factor... Rough Copy
  • "Posting without reading"
  • "and he turned round and said"

    Even better "turnt round".

  • "It is what it is."

"IMO." 99% of the time it's plainly obvious that it's your opinion. It's not like I'm going to accidentally mistake your opinion for fact if you don't put 'IMO' before your post.
  • "Inbox me". What? 'Inbox' is not a verb.

    Great thread btw.
  • 'SIR' Chris Powell

    Cringeworthy!
  • Powell out'!! Also I have never understood why people have to say things like, in all honesty.

It's "can I have" in this country - always has been. "Can I get" is a yankism, said by people because they think it's cool. There's one word in the English language that sounds better in an American accent. One word. Moustache.

what I always fail to get about this one is convos on facebook that go

A- Why does this always happen to me? (or some similar attention seeking crap)
    B- What's up babe?
    A- Inbox me

Now, how does B 'inboxing' A result in B having any more info than they already have?

Surely A should say 'I'll inbox you'

Infuriating. I always wonder why it's only that word as well. I mean, I've never heard 'tarks' instead of 'task' but surely if you can't pronounce the s before the k on ask, you shouldn't be able to do so on any other word?

Don't get me started. Also these kind of people generally plaster every intimate moment and detail of their life over social media, so why restrict the mystery to someone privelleged enough to be 'inboxed'? If you're going to live your life like an open wound you may as well go the whole hog and make everything public.

I've never seen this before, so I looked it up. "carpe diem" for stupid people, Urban Dictionary.
  • "I have a gay/black/Asian/Muslim/Jewish ...insert any other group" used to justify some outrageous statement about the said "friend's" group.
