    Mick McCarthy on sackings at #wafc #barnsleyfc #swfc : "I'm 7th longest-serving. I might be 6th/5th, I haven't watched news for half an hour!"
  • I was thinking about Pardew being the second longest serving manager in the Premiership and came to the conclusion that if you're a football club chairman, the managerial merry-go-round is pretty much pot luck. Richard Murray paid a million or two in compensation to get rid of Pardew -and the bloke had lost the plot so badly at Charlton that it seemed money well spent to see the back of him. But anyone wanting to hire his services today would have to pay millions in compensation to persuade Newcastle to allow him to leave. It's a funny old world...
  • Martin Jol is a good manager, but it had gone wrong at Fulham. You may remember that Fulham wanted him from Ajax, who didn't want to let him go. Jol stayed for another season in Amsterdam, won the league title, then it was off to Fulham.
He looked spent the past few weeks.
Curbs would be a good fit for Fulham, but they already have their man. At least for now.

How Dowie continues to get in any club's frame is amazing. You'd think that everyone would know that it is all downhill once he finishes the power-point presentation.
