Charlton's second bite of the cherry following the controversial postponement back in August worked to their advantage, with the Addicks running out comfortable winners. Doncaster looked a shadow of the side who dominated the first half last time around, and were undone by a spectacular first half looping volley from Dale Stephens outside the box, and Simon Church wrapping up the points after sliding home a through ball from the edge of the box.
It was a much needed reward for Church, who despite his high workrate, failed to take two much easier chances. All in, an improved performance by the Addicks and a much needed three points, seen by the lowest Valley actual attendance for some time, compounded by severe train issues following a signal box fire at London Bridge.
