Help with my dissertation

Hi All

I know this is my first post on here but I thought it would be the best way to contact as many Charlton fans as possible.

I am currently in my 4th year at Aston University studying Business and Sociology and for my dissertation I am looking into the commercialisation and globalisation of football and its effects on small clubs especially in London. Also as I support Charlton I am using the club as a case study and am going to look at how the club has changed over the years.

I am looking to interview around 6-10 fans with each one taking around an hour, asking questions in relation to the identity of the club, ticket prices, what the future holds and other topics regarding the club as a whole. All participants will be kept anonymous if they wish to be so, all information kept confidential and everyone will have the right to pull out whenever they want to. Further information on the ethics of the research will be given when participants have come forward

I hope many of you would be interested in participating, if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me, just send me a private message or ask in this thread and I will try and help as much as I can. To begin with I am just looking to see how many people would be interested and then we can take it from there.

Would happily help. I wrote an economics / politics-orientated dissertation centred on football (albeit in France, and 10 yrs ago now) and may be some cross-over with your topic!?!?!

You should talk to Wyn Grant if he is willing. He is (a) a Charlton fan and (b) knows a lot (and has written extensively) about the politics and economics of football.

Greetings, Tom - I'm a fellow Astonian, graduated in Transport Planning in 1985. I was also editor of the students' paper, and am still very fond of much-maligned Birmingham: I enjoyed revisiting old haunts on a couple of day-trips from London recently. I have actively supported Charlton for almost 50 years and gladly offer myself for interview, in central or south-east London if that's convenient for you, or by e-mail. Nick.

Would be happy to help, although as I've been in exile in Scotland for the past five years I don't know if I'm what you're looking for. Had a season ticket for the eleven years prior to that though.
