Comes into force 1 jan 2014. Sounds like something admin might want to have a look at if they haven't already done so. Section 5 defence in the defamation act 2013 will probably be of interest.
Seems to make it harder to libel someone as they now have to show "serious harm".
It also provides protection for website operators as they can name the person who made the statement and protect themselves by co-operating and removing offending posts.
Also seems to stop the "libel tourism" so people live live outside the UK can't sue using English courts/law.
So in CL terms
If you call someone a crook but Admin might "grass" you up
And you can say what you like about AlgarveAddick and Prague Addicks as well as Cyprus resident Tony Jimenez but not about Michael Slater or Chris Powell
