The unofficial Thanks TJ, MS & KC thread.

So it appears our current owners are selling up and the future is Belgique (or maybe Belgie).
I for one would like to thank them for their endeavours whilst at the helm of the good ship Charlton Athletic.
Lets not forget where we were when they took over. They steadied the ship, brought a new captain on board and funded some new crew members.
I hope they didn't lose to much Cash. I wish them well.

I put it on the other thread....

Thanks for saving our club, thanks for getting us up and thanks for leaving!

They weren't the best but they certainly weren't the worst, the football club is in a much better place than it was when they took over.

    Thank you chaps and goodbye
  • Very tough to assess them, yes they invested to get us out of League One but the exodus of so many long serving back room staff suggests that their running of the club was not what it should have been.
  • We're in a better place than we were BUT, they were sharks in my opinion. Gambled on promotion on the cheap which doesn't happen - let's hope now for a better second half of the season. Will he gooner CP?

Might be an idea to wait for the official announcements before we seek to stone them or build their statues

Oversaw the removal of years of invaluable experience from the clubs management structure, took the plaudits for getting us promoted out of league one - when we all know it wasn't their money that paid for it - ran a mile the second they were expected to fork out any of their own money. Raised admission prices whilst failing to invest in the big green thing which aids the entertainment value etc etc Don't worry about shutting the door on your way out.

Well they have not done a Hulyer or a Fryer
  • I've read the conspiracy theorists on here accusing of TJ of playing Russian roulette and play station manager or whatever the correct terminology is regarding the Stephens bid. In view Stephens performance this season, it appears he did get it right. The bloke had a valuation of Stephens and stuck to it and wouldn't take villas derisory bid. I think that should be acknowledged.

Thanks for hiring Chris Powell and funding the squad rebuilding that got us out of League One. As for everything else, I'm reserving judgement until more information is in the public domain.

To be fair they have stuck by chris powell and the finacial situation wasnt really their fault - TJs main investor pulled out of their deal so there was virtualy no money - sad that it was sold for so little in the end though. I am really surprised as to why they didnt explain this to the fans as we would have understood their position and not blamed them when it wasnt really their fault. Good luck guys and thank you for all your hard work.

Good businessmen, but ultimately didn't understand the importance of customer relations within a football club. All went pear-shapedd once KC pulled the plug. If you remember, Slater's communication was pretty good up til then

They gambled and it did not pay off. Its business. But they did hire Powell and that has had a big impact on the well-being of the team and fans (not sure about the back room staff) and for this I thank them.

    good point
  • We were on a slippery slope with them in charge, however, to be fair to them they look at where we are and the players we have compared to when they took over.

Over Xmas my nephew asked me to play him at FIFA 11 on his playstation, the default Charlton team was as follows...

    Elliott

    Francis
    Dailly
    Doherty
    Youga

    Wagstaff
    Semedo
    Racon
    Reid

    Abbott
    Sodje

Thank f@&k those days are over!!

When they took over from us the first thing they did was to sack Parkinson and bring Powell in with BWP our first signing. This was the start of a very positive direction for the club. What has happend during the 2011 summer window we have bought in a new team practically, we invested in the acadamy, we also made improvements to the training ground and we have a new management team with better scouting i.e Jeff Ventre.

What a season it turned out to be and I can quiet frankly say I mostly enjoyed that season since 2003/04 season.

Since we got promoted to the Championship things turned sour. Lack of investment in the team, pitch looking terrible and rumours of unsettling within the board. They have now left us in a mess though with players and staff contracts on 6 months left. Roland has got a lot of work to do to turn this club around quickly.

So Thank you TJ,MS and KC for the work you done from you took over until our first season back in the Championship. Good riddance for the rest of the time and Thank you for selling up.

Think the good year and a half they had has more to do with Peter Varney than anything

Where did the investment come from though? I doubt it was from Peter Varney's pockets!

    Thank you TJ and MS.

2011/2012 was the most fun I've had following Charlton.

Over the last three years we have had a stable management team headed up by one of the all time Charlton greats. Not to mention a very likeable team which has been consistent over the past few seasons. No chopping and changing every Summer.

They haven't been everyone's cup of tea, especially to those who would rather talk about accounts/politics/ghostwriting principles. However for those who simply wanted to see the team get out of League One whilst keeping all our top players, they managed to do it.

    Thanks and good luck.

Loans to the club from TJ and MS, so we can assume they were loans from KC, sanctioned by PV.
