It would also be nice to get some quality in before letting our decent players go. The team as is, will be in a relegation scrap. With losing Stewart, the team is currently weaker than at the start of the loan window.GreenWithEnvy said:
I am sure that is the usual lip service we get from all playing staff.charltonbob said:
I thought that his girlfriend moved down here & he was quoted in the News Shopper that he was hoping to earn a new contract ?Man_About_Town said:Stephens would be a required player for any Club in the Championship that wants to be pushing for the top 6.Monay and a god Contract could make that desire to be up north desire disappear.
I do hope he stays as he's always been another of the better attacking options we've got. Having lost Stewart I'd be loathe to lose Stephens as well in this window to be replaced by a loanee or other some such. Let's not forget we are still in a relegation scrap and we need those that understand the predicament to help out. Let's pray we offer a good contract to him very soon and he decides to sign on the dotted line.
Stephens has improved because we have Cousins playing in front of the back 4 which allows Stephens to play further up the pitch. It would be a shame to lose him, now he is playing a lot better and decent support from Cousins.
I will be feeling happier if / when some of the weaknesses of the team are addressed.

Perhaps some people should give Duchatelet a bit of time - even Abramovitch took 13 days to make his first signing after acquiring Chelsea - and boy has he wasted some money

Great picture of Morrison for anyone that doesn't know what he looks like! Nice one sky. Hope we sort some of these contracts out real soon though, I really rate Morro and think he's been great for us.4

Please let people be interested in Morrison - really don't rate him
- I've said for 3 seasons we need some better centre backs. 2 -
Mate who supports Burnley just phoned to say they are being linked with Stephens. Not sure where he got it from but would seem Dale's agent is getting paid for over time!0

It's all agent talk.0

Blimey, northamtpon, bottom of the footy pyramid arn't they? What happened to the bloke, over rated as a kid or became a pisshead?
Both i think!0 -
Exactly , Dale can run his contract down and get half a million signing on feeMuttleyCAFC said:I'd be surprised if somebody offers us £1m for Stephens when they can get him for free if they wait a few months!
I don't think anyone would think he's worth the extra half a million now rather than in 6 months
Will be a big loss if it happens but I'm sure Roland has another goalkeeper that will help bolster the squad1 -
Well, at least it will free up some money for some new goalkeepers.

That's a very good signing for Burnley...bet they paid a bit for him too!0

Hopefully ends any interest in Yann as well. Barnes is a quality player in this division.Pedro45 said:That's a very good signing for Burnley...bet they paid a bit for him too!

I think we could be taking more advantage of Curbs involvement at Fulham. Surely they can loan us someone relatively decent!0

Who ever wants to sign Jordan Rhodes is going to have to splash a lot of cash on him. Blackburn have set a huge price tag on him.

I thought Brighton's owner was loaded, has he decided to rein in his spending now? Selling Barnes and Bridcutt this month isn't going to help their promotion hopes

For sure. Plus many of the other first team players.
I mean someone not getting a game for them0 -
Huddersfield agreed a fee for Nahki Wells!0

Where do Huddersfield get their money from? They've made some fantastic signings over the last year.CAFCsayer said:Huddersfield agreed a fee for Nahki Wells!

Bridcutt is quality. I can't see them finding anyone better than him.Pedro45 said:Brighton are re-building after Poyet...they wil sell a couple then buy better I fear.
