I was only there for a few days a couple years ago (and spent most of that indoors with torn ankle ligaments) so I could only go a few minutes from where we were staying in Sant Antoni. This place was pretty good: https://rabipelaoraval.negocio.site/. More of a grownups/late night bar and eatery though.
I’m going to Barcelona for a long weekend next month so I am interested in further comments and suggestions for places to eat and bars to go to etc
Haven't been for three or four years but this place in Barceloneta was recommended by a local and we loved it - https://www.barjaica.com/
Very informal, difficult to get a table but people just squeeze in at the bar or make use of whatever there is to lean on. Not a fine dining experience, but a great place if you like tucking into a tasty selection of whatever the fisherman caught that morning. It's not expensive either (putting aside the dismal exchange rate).

Burgers came out medium if I remember correctly (in case the kiddos don't like that).

If you need a nice restaurant for a romantic dinner, try La Isabela on the rooftop of Hotel 1898 on Las Ramblas.
Some good coastal resorts south of the City and plenty of amazing architecture.
