I see they will be taking our votes from the Reading game, a few weeks ago, I was voting for Scott Carson, but since DB has returned, my head has been swayed - what do we do?

  • Still got to be Scott Carson, IMHO. In all seriousness, if it were not for him we would probably have at least 7-8 less points and have no prayer of staying up and our goal diff would eb -40. Nobody else has been as good all season as he has.

I think Souly's got a case, well for the second half of the season anyway.

Carson has been the most consistent performer and is head and shoulders above anyone else in the team.

Carson for me, fantastic between the sticks. Gotta be signed next season with some of the TV money!

Another vote for Carson from me.

Will also not forget that at some of our lowest points last year, he seemed to care more than most of the others.

got to be bent. our goal difference without carson might have been -100,but i can't really think of any games that we have won because of him.

Carson for me and Bent should have a joint one this year
  • Carson's save at Pompey from Cole's header got us a win rather than a draw. Also, made some unbelievable saves at home to Man City to protect a 1-0 win and also saved that penalty at home against Bolton which effectively saved the game plus he was also great away at Bolton when they could have had three goals if it weren't for his saves.

add to the fact he has played most of the season without a back four in front of him...

Carson hands down. Love having Bent back, and he is our biggest talent but Carson has kept us in this when very few others stepped up.

    Carson by an absolute street.

Others have had the odd good moment and have been mostly mentioned above other than El K who deserves a mention in dispatches for his free kicks against Blackburn and Bolton which gave us 4 precious points even if his defending has been heart in mouth at times!

A great save from Barton yesterday.
    Carson for consistency.
Darren for everything else, including playing on when clearly still not 100% fit.

Give it to Carson. With Benty missing out on POTY this season, he'll be more keen to stay and win his crown back next ;-)

It has to be a defender or goalkeeper - it wouldn't be a Charlton player of the season otherwise.

I'd vote for Holland or Ambrose - at least they had the guts to clap us after the match at Forest. I don't forget that sort of thing.

I vote for Jon Fortune. 3 reasons:

    1) He showed guts and commitment playing against Portsmouth (home) with a painful broken toe.
    2) He sent the Palace down.
    3) He had the good sense to go back to Stoke.

Actually, can I change my mind?
    Scott Carson....one man fortress.

Carson's been great. No argument there.

Just not sure about giving the Charlton player of the year to a Liverpool player. Sorry but I'd like to give it to someone who's actually ours.

By the way, John Fortune hasn't become a bad player overnight. He was outstanding alongside Fish: someone who spoke the same language as him. Don't think we should forget that.

Maybe we sould have a Pardew era player of the season. No one was particularly outstanding under Dowie / Reid. Souley would get my 'Pardew' vote.

Can't we just vote for Pardew? He could come on as a sub in injury time or something.

Managed to miss the people collecting votes tonight, but apparently Carson was runaway leader in the East
