Brilliant story and says it all about how we are a "family" club. Great stuff. Only thing is that the article doesnt mention that Jessie read the book a month ago and still hasn't woken up....................
There are loads of obstacles like visa restrictions, getting off work in China, costs and so on. However I would love to think that Jessie could come over here for a week or so during the season, perhaps catch two home games and an away or something. I want to say that if it happens Jessie you can stay at our home, free of charge, we are a Mandarin speaking household (although your English is excellent), I would be happy to collect you from the airport, and it would be an honour to have you as our guest. If Jessie can make it here I would love to think that together with the Club, all of us here could contribute to making her stay special. For such a loyal fan, following us from such a distance (yes there are others too...I know) we can surely show Jessie how much we appreciate her keeping the flame burning for Charlton Athletic in Wixu.
I think it's a great way for me to thank Fanny, Granpa, SHG and AUN for everything they have done for me, and of course to also let more people know about Charlton Life, what a great website it is, what a group of wonderful people you Lifers are. Thanks again to all of you for your immense support and encouraging words. This is the most exciting experience in my Charlton supporting life so far, and will always be one of my fondest memories as a Charlton fan. @Brunello thanks for letting me know, Curbs reading it is just.... surreal....
I'm also SO pleased that we won this game, and DD the cover boy was the match winner, which makes this issue all the more special.
@Atletico Addick thank you. I believe I'll be able to make it to The Valley one day, maybe not in the near future, but I will...
@seth, huge huge thanks. I'm compleytely overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity!!!!! It's the things all you local people keep saying and doing that make me feel really part of this big family, despite the fact that I live so far away. I must say I'm getting all misty-eyed right now.... This is the kind of rewarding feeling I would never have if I supported any other football club.
Hope you get to The Valley sometime Jessie. I've seen Charlton in China so I think you deserve to see them in London.
The pre-season tour in the summer of 2004? The club came to Guangdong province and I couldn't go because it was way too far and I was only a student with no money then... It was a big shame!!!
