Given the conjecture about the ages of Kanu, Okocha & Obafemi Martins in the past, here is another tale:

About 10 years ago, a Chelsea supporting friend of mine got chatting with an African Cab driver, just after the signing of Didier Drogba, & asking the cabbie what he thought of him, got the reply "Didier Drogba, he is a good player, but I don't know how long he will last, he is nearly 45 years old. Lots of African players lie about their age!" :-D

Apologies if this story has been posted on here already. I did look, but could nae see a thread on the subject.
