Before you get too excited, this unfortunately is history not future. I know as I am getting older the memory fades, but I remember when Costa returned to Portugal, so the memory goes, he made us aware of a new 17-year old kid called Ronaldo, who he thought it would be worth taking a chance on, but Curbs was rumoured to say he would not pay £700,000 for a teenager. I remember the headlines in the KM, saying we are getting Ronaldo, No not that one, meaning the Brazilian top player at the time. The next season he went to Man U for £8m I think. If this is true, I have always wondered what Curbs thinks know.

Sounds like a myth. Ronaldo at 17 was already being tracked by the big boys. Plus curbs wouldn't take a risk like that, a true steady eddie of the transfer market.
