Too much pressure on the kids?

Harriot poyet and cousins choked big time today regardless of the position they were played in. Give them time remember they haven't been playing first team football that long.

  • Fair point. Didn't think DP did too much wrong apart from sitting too deep. Instructions I presume. Harriott put in a shift but is too easily nudged off the ball and Jordan is no right sided midfielder. More senior pros with more to answer for than any of them.

Kids ??? old enough to put a shift in ....
  • Wasn't just a ordinary game it's the first time they played in a 30k gate with a wembley appearance at stake

Get an effing grip, kids of that age do active service in the forces, fact is as a team we were not up for it, coaching staff sort it out pronto, absolute embarrassment today, did anyone see the English rugby team today, in terms of experience, caps, and points no where near the opposition, did they buckle, no way they physically smashed the Welsh. Our mob, one one paced, bottle jobs, us fans well we mean nothing, do they care, I doubt very much.

PaddyP17, so you are proud of that effort today? I am not having a go at the young players, far, far from it, it's the team as an entity that rolled over today, players and coaching staff, if you can defend that performance please do, surely it was obvious to all we rolled over and died, imagine doing that when it really meant something. The fans wanted it, convince me the paid employees wanted it as well, I await your response.

No, Powell choked big time today. The tactics were wrong, not the players.

Too much pressure or just not good enough apart from Poyet?

Poet played superbly, Cousins out of position and suffering for it, Harriott decent but lightweight, that's all and I was there.

Totally unfair to blame it on the kids...
  • I thought Harriot was our most dangerous player. Poyet played well but was instructed to play far too deep, more like a sweeper. Cousins was played in completely the wrong position. They are hardly kids, they are probably the fittest players at the club and have the energy and exuberance that we need. They just need to be played in their best positions.

poyet played ok under circs . Cousins wasn't right he'd passed fitness test but didn't look right. Harriot ran his bollox off

Wiggins was poor Wilson was poor church Tudgay all poor and all experienced pros there's your problem they bloody choked not them "kids"

I'm hoping they've had their shocker in front of an atmosphere on an occasion now. Sounds silly but could be ideal preparation for Millwall this weekend.

Why?They were a disgrace in the home game against milwall!
  • i watched the match and poyet was one of the best imo. he held possesion and also looking at his passing stats he made a lot of them and only missed one pass. cousins di alright. harriot probably the best player. we looked comfortable playing a terrible game and sheff utd too. then they got two goals which to be fair were lucky but hey, we lost. i reckon though what andy ansah said is true. there is an underlining reason why we played so poorly and probably roland wanting to not lose in the semis and go down. if we wbeat millwall will people be happy. lets be honest if we won we would lose to millwall and whilst it was fun while it lasted, staying up is more important for this season then a day out at wembley. who knows if we get lucky we could have a run in the cup next season.

I don't think those under 21, without extensive training, should be allowed to serve in areas of conflict. I find it amusing how you've extrapolated my entire fucking thoughts on the performance from that.

No, I'm not proud of that effort today. Top of P4 in the post-match views thread, you'll find mine. I just don't understand your equation of football with the military.

Poyet did very little wrong. Infact I think he is too good for our team - a lot of players around him aren't on the same wavelength.

Cousins is being played out of position.

Thought Harriott put in a shift but just made the wrong decisions at times.

Coussins played out of position - Poyet was tidy but we probably needed a more attacking player. Harriot missed a sitter, but was decent I thought !

Sheffield Utd had a team full of kids so this excuse doesn't really hold up does it?

Poyet choked? Having a laugh as he was one of our better players. Harriott looked what he is, a League 1 player, and Cousins was out of position and inevitably looked lost. Blaming the kids is totally wrong. If you want to blame anyone start with Powell then Tudgay and Wiggins.

Thought Poyet was tidy enough but he was too deep, was too slow in moving the ball and when he did it was mostly side ways, or back for Morrison or Wood to look for the forward pass.

Not knocking him as he's young and he was playing in a negative formation
