PROTEST ON WEDNESDAY

To who? RD won't be there. He never is.0
-
Gonna go to the match, have a few pints as normal, cheer on the boys as normal and we might win! COYR!7
-
Singing "Chrissy Powells Red Army", "Chrissy Powell, Chrissy Powell, Chrissy Powell" etc during the game should make the point without being abusive or offensive.4
-
Thought this was another bloody Sheffield thread.................4
-
Prior to kick off and at half time every fan should stand up and silently turn their backs on the pitch (i.e. so the players dont get any grief from us whilst its a kind of way to say we dont like what is happening on it)
And has to be done silently... Making noise wouldnt work as silence speaks louder than words2 -
What a bloody stupid idea.paulie8290 said:anyone interested in making some form of a protest and if so what idea's do you have

No interest at all.
Support the club not the manager.
If you think screaming and shouting behind the West Stand will influence RD's thinking you are deluded.
If we are going to have any chance of staying up fans need to unite behind the team. The manager needs to earn our trust/respect, but I for one don't blame him for the situation and anyone giving him pelters is a clown.7 -
Why is it a stupid idea??scabbyhorse said:

He didnt say during the game or at the players. Whats wrong with before the game lr after it?0

Pathetic, why not get behind the team and new manager, no one man is bigger than a club.3

Just like any other game at The Valley then.ForeverAddickted said:

He's been through the exact same process before and came up smelling of roses, right? Sacking, protests, top of the league etc.
Even if we are right to demand Powell not be sacked in the long term, in the short RD has the courage of his convictions. Protests won't matter whatsoever. Probably harden his resolve.0 -

Can't we give it a few games first? You never know, we might improve if we actually support them with the new approach.
If it turns out he's just a yes man and we look even worse, then protest.0 -
I think it's justified in these circusmstances. How can so many people be happy that our owner dictates to our manager who must play. It's crazy.
All this talk of supporting the club not the man, I say to you that this is exactly what people are calling on others to do. At the moment I see it as the club being under threat, we are in the process of becoming a B team for a Belgian club. I support the club, and for that I want Roland to be gone as quickly as he came.5 -

I would not want anything at the players
I am someone who even when we lose claps the players off(although I do get weird looks in the upper north)0 -

I agree totally with this .. Save your energy for more constructive things .. like watching, applauding & cheering

Absolutely pathetic, some of you need to move on and support the club. There is a reason why Powell got sacked. Lowest scorers in the league says it all. The football has been horrific to watch and not once this season have we won a game comfortably.
Take those blinkered glasses off and realise that if any other manager was in this situation they would have been gone months ago.5 -
The irony is unreal...scabbyhorse said:Just to add too unbelievable! Get behind the team and start supporting Charlton.

People don't seem to understand what this 'feeder club' statement means. RD just wants us to tick over, Standard are his profit maker. If we are relegated then that's it. No money for a promotion push, we will just sit in league one as a mid table side who produces the odd youngster good enough to go to Belgium.
This idea of protest isn't about Powell getting the sack, it's about the worrying direction our club is going in. We know that the players loved Powell, so how are they going to feel at training today? Or during the match tomorrow? Lose the 2 games this week and that's that, season over.
I think we have some seriously bleak days ahead, and we somehow need to get our questions answered. Whether it be through the trust or through some form of demo, I for one would like to know what the f*ck is going on.9 -
So next week should RD decide to change the name to Standard Charlton, and tell us next season we are playing at the dome, you wouldnt do anything? After all, you will still be supporting the "team".WhenIwasLittleBoy said:Pathetic, why not get behind the team and new manager, no one man is bigger than a club.
Its not just about sacking SCP, its about everything that has/is happening with the direction the club is taking. Sky showed RD last month saying Chris would be here for the long haul. Last week he was offered a new long term contract. Who knows what RD has planned for us regardless of what he has told us.

I bet YTU and Nego are both starting on Wednesday,0

What exactly would we be protesting against? The board? If so, are you saying you want them out?1

If we win the game he can play Mr Blobby for all I care.paulie8290 said:I bet YTU and Nego are both starting on Wednesday,

Turning around in the lower west at half time will mean facing the directors box: but nobody will be there to see the protest. Not a good idea...Support the team!0
