In Italy they take lighters from you, Peru they take your belts! They then leave them in a pile outside for collection, meaning people grab one then charge off around the stadium looking for opposition fans.

On more than one occasion in this country I've also had toilet roll removed from my person. Needless to say, I was both shocked and disgusted.

    Really?
Went to over 50 matches in Peru - never had anything taken off me or my friends.
Just enjoyed the beer girls running round the stadium selling beers.

But I tell you what, if they had asked to check my keys, I would have formed a supporters action group and had serious words with someone. anyone. Where would it lead?Would we all have to watch next season in the nude?
To be fair that was at Universitario v Alianza Lima and I was in the away end. At Cienciano it didn't happen.

Haha AUN, I wish you were joking!

Me and 20 friends have decided to start a group asking for dialogue with the stewards. If nothing is forthcoming we will discuss affirmative action in April.

Phew ! I left my phone at home and as the wife had the car wasn't carrying any keys. Gawd knows what would have happened if I'd had them on me. Disaster unwittingly diverted. And my day out would have been ruined, my life never the same again.

Just do what we do, tell them to fuck off and push past them. Stop being so conformist. I haven't been searched at football since the early 90s. (Lol, I bet you was all queuing up waiting in turn)

How many people remember the laces being taken from Dr Marten's boots by the police before you were allowed entry to a game? Late 1960's/early 1970's.

I remember seeing some lads in their socks at games, I'd guess they were wearing steel toe cap boots.

Obviously didn't have the I.Q to take a spare pair of laces with them then...............

I dont think the stewarding was over the top but in the lower tier for the latter part of the second half we had stewards and police standing with us. A Jacko late winner and they would have got taken out.

Clearly been watching our forward play then..

Think it was a Palarse away game in the mid to late 70's where I saw DM's being removed and loads of Charlton lads ended up standing on the terracing in in their socks. The police had a portakabin and there were literally hundred's of cherry reds piled up.

  • Jonnie signs new deal
    Morrison praises new boss
    Obika comes in on loan
We get deserved point at stadium toolbox
New boss get us playing passing football
So it's been a good week realy?
    Yet some people still moan?

Remember my dad telling me "looks like trouble lad" so we went home never to return !
Well not till i was old enough to go on my own!

  • Yep I remember having laces taken out of boots in the late 70's early 80's for certain games, same time you could enjoy a pint watching the game if you could hang onto it!!
