Player going from Folkestone to Hull

Just caught a bit of Hawksbee and Jacobs. They were talking about a lad getting a transfer to Hull from Folkestone - is this JT's brother that's been discussed on here before?

  • Yes, there is another thread on here

Yes. We had him on trial but told him there was no money to sign him.

Good Luck to the lad, great story and as he's an Addick can only wish him well.
  • Oh right. Cheers.
  • A Charlton fan, trained with the club for ages, desperate to sign for us, messed about.....

This is going to be a very hard one to take if he goes on and 'makes it'.

  • Euell was really keen, hands were tied unfortunately
  • He's grrrrrrrreeeeattttt and wants to be a Tygggggerrrrr
  • All the best to the lad. Hope the move works out well
  • Ouch.... That stings....

    Good luck to the guy
  • Good luck to him, it's a shame we couldn't do anything for him.

Wish your Brother luck from us all JT...

What are his plans for moving up to Hull will the club be helping him out or does he have to sort that sort of thing out himself?

  • maybe needs to go out on loan.......
  • who's to say that he won't end up one day back with his beloved Charlton. All the best to the lad for now.
  • is it too late?
  • Of course is difficult for you to say JT but were Hull the only party to put an offer to him in the end as I know he also went to train with Aston Villa?

Good to see as well that he wants to finish the season with Folkestone will certainly follow his career with interest

He's going to try and train 2/3 days a week with the 21s until the end of the season, Hull said they will sort out accomodation for him and cover the travel etc.

Then over the summer he will obviously have to look for a flat, again they have said they will help with all that. Joins up fully for pre season.

He was keen to finish the season for Folkestone so im glad it's worked out like this. Obviously he was gutted when Charlton said they couldnt do anything at the mo, but Euell did ring him at length and explain the situ and was a gent throughout.

Tell him not to spend too much time in spiders.
  • Best of luck to him. Can't imagine how exciting it must be going from non-league to the big time.

Was he training with Charlton under RD or Jiminez/Slater?
  • Congrats, will keep an eye on his progress for sure
  • Only trained with Charlton no one else

    Under RD chunes..
  • Would have been cheap as chips, too

    Come onnnnnnnnn charlton

  • Really wish him well, what a great opportunity
  • JT, can you ask him for his opinion.............City or Tigers?
  • Great news! All the best to your brother JT
  • Sounds like a missed opportunity and goes totally against RD's supposed model of getting players young and developing them.

Local lad who supports Charlton - Surely was worth a punt!!!

Thought it was the youth set-up that RD was keen on.This could come back to bite us.
All the best for this guy and still wants to help Folkstone nice one son.
  • Wish he was coming to us - I hope that this isn't an opportunity missed. It would be great to have an Addick playing for us....
  • Blimey Hull's youth set up is only Cat 3 :open_mouth:

That's what I thought. Even Charlton are Cat 2 and aiming for Cat 1
  • Is JT's brother still at Hull do we know?
