  • Train home is fairly empty. Running about 5 mins late but that's pretty normal...

What happened to everyone crammed into them this morning??
No idea. I managed to get a seat this morning but had someone's bum in my face all the way.

Journey home there is about 6 people in my carriage. Reckon they all used the snow as an excuse to knock off early.
  • Sardine special on the 17.35 LB to bexheath
  • have confirmed that the restricted timetable as done today will be in place for tomorrow and Saturday.

Only we'll all probably find it more restricted than today once we woke up and find mountains of snow have fallen.
  • Got the 4.05 to welling from LB and it was rammed

Just 2 trains an hour but couldn’t use 4 carriages as there was an earlier fault with one of them. Couldn’t they have used another train / 4 carriages?
  • Up early to get in on time and all ran smoothly. Just pulling in to Waterloo East.

Same here Large but I’m keeping quiet as there’s no way I’m giving those bastards any credit!
  • Staff have been excellent today. Fair play to them. It's easy to forget they bear the brunt of the chaos even though they have no control...particularly when the management and directors are nowhere to be seen.
  • Squashed against a load of geezers on the train today, ideal.
  • I have not had too many problems this week, to be fair. The train in yesterday morning was packed like sardines but got in on time. Going home was okay apart from a train on fire in Greenhithe stopping all services at Dartford.

Today have given in and working from home. Mainly due to blisters on my feet from walking miles in wellies to get to and from the station!

    Heretic! Burn him!!!
  • Was haranguing some station staff at Cannon St on Wednesday evening, after both the 4.23 and 4.45 Bexleyheath line trains went from Delayed to vanished on the departure boards (not shown as cancelled, just took them off the boards completely). A number of us were inquiring what was happening so the platform guy radioed the lady in the control room who said that the system was still showing these trains as delayed but she didn't know where the stock to form the trains was so she'd taken them off the boards "to avoid confusion". Erm...vanishing trains does NOT avoid confusion.

Several people were asking the best way to get to stations on the Bexleyheath line and the platform guy was telling them to go to London Bridge where they'd have a choice of Cannon St and Charing X trains (despite there not being any Cannon St trains). Meanwhile, literally behind this guy's back, a train to Barnehurst via Woolwich had arrived. I jumped on that, knowing that once it reached Barnehurst it actually carries on and calls all stations on the Bexleyheath line to Cannon St (I'm proper Charlton, me). Bit of a roundabout route but I got home eventually!
  • The following has just been circulated at work

All London train companies are warning that their networks will be closing early today. This includes (but is not limited to) SWR, Southern, Greater Anglia, South Eastern, Thameslink and Great Northern.

Many companies will not be providing transport after 2pm today, and this may end up being even earlier, depending on snowfall and icy conditions. I would suggest you check your train company as soon as you can and plan your journey home accordingly.

  • No trains running in East Kent at all. Nothing on Victoria - Ashford line especially
  • BBC South East news just said Southeastern saying not to travel at all until further notice, the whole network. So glad I stayed at home today!
  • I'm at a gig tonight, could be fun getting home..I wonder how long it would take to walk from Tufnell Park to Blackfen
  • Anyone got a spare pair of skis?

Got a snowboard in the garage... it'll take you a while to get here for it though...
  • lots of people appear to have thought 'fuck it' today and stayed at home

  • These c%$ts take the piss to the greatest extent possible every time they get the chance. This weather is unusual, not extraordinary, but they have no contingency plans in place whatsoever except make it up as you go along, and "fuck it, they're only our customers". As for the information they provide, it's an absolute disgrace.

    Hate, hate, hate.

I don't know how to put the tweet here, sorry!

Southeastern just said Sidcup line closed.

IMPORTANT UPDATE These routes are open and (delays excepted) are disruption free. If travelling on these: please look to go ASAP:
    Charing X-Hastings / Ashf'd via Tonbdge
    Charing X - D'ford v Bexleyh'th
    Cannon Street - D'ford v Woolw'ch
    SIDCUP LINE NOW CLOSED

    2:26 PM - 2 Mar 2018

  • The Tweet says "Please Don't Travel", the Current Service Update says trains are running to some extent on 12 out of 14 lines. So if you're standing on the platform at Cannon Street and a train's about to leave then you just wave it off, right?! Idiots.

That will please the wife - she's undertaking interviews in London 'til gone 5.00.

Oh well if she has to stay in a hotel over the weekend I'm sure we'll survive without her. Now where did I put those takeaway menus.........

Mate of mine is at Charing Cross & it’s not looking good for trains, Sidcup line is closed & trains actually running are few & far between
  • People are stuck on a train between Stone Crossing and Dartford, been there for around 2.5 hours so far apparently.

Ha! Don't worry mate I'm sure I'll change my tune by the time I attempt to get home tonight with the current carnage and will revise my opinion as soon as one of their staff kisses their teeth at me for having the audacity to ask a train service related question.
