Could we relegate Blackpool on the last day of the season?

Is it possible?
Would be good to get some payback for them sending us down to league one back in 2009;even if it was at the expense of millwall staying up!

Yes, I predicted it at the start of the season but they did better than I thought (Well done Paul Ince?!). The club is a shambles thanks to the owner.

Could Thuram make a farewell appearance and should we all wear face masks in appreciation?

For the benefit of older Lifers, this should read: "… payback for sending us down to the Third Division on the final day of the 1971/72 season by beating us 5-0 at Bloomfield Road."

They were managed by Bob Stokoe, who had been sacked as boss at The Valley and wanted revenge. Stokoe went into the Charlton dressing room before the game and told the visiting players they were going down that afternoon, according to Keith Peacock, who had been there when he was in charge at The Valley.

I was at that match and it still hurts today recalling the depressing trip back.

As @Ketman‌ pointed out the other day, we've been promoted at Carlisle twice could we be relegated at Blackpool twice!

Well I for one hope Millwall stay up (with us of course) and that Crystal Palace come back down. Do love the South London derbies...

I'd be happy to never play Palace or Millwall ever again as long as we were always in divisions above them. Sadly this looks a reality for Palace

I also hope the Spanners stay up otherwise there is no match worth looking out for next season.

I hope they stay up as I enjoy the walk all around Charlton after the game so the Millwall fans aren't inconvenienced.

Doesn't 'scoop' Burrows also say that the Charlton team downed enough booze for an Irish wedding on the eve of the match?

If we want to follow that example I guess we'd need to appoint Paul Ince as our manager...

Already safe and on the last day Blackpool neck and neck with Millwall. We play Thuram in goal and Church up front.

awful day. Our old black and white tv had broken down and the engineer had just got it going again when the teleprinter was chucking out the scores and he heard ours and said that was good news because he was a fulham fan and it meant they stayed up.

Would that be worse than Church in goal & Thuram up front?
