JJ - TWO overhead kicks against Exeter in the FA Cup!
  • Options
Up front: Shaun Bartlett for that Goal of the Season volley
Right Back: Steve Brown for the coolest celebration at The Valley for one of his all too rare 25 yard netbusters
Left Back: Jamie Stewart (bear with me here) for a 25 yard screamer into the goal at the Jimmy Seed end, a split second after an unidentified voice in the East Stand yelled "Noooo!! Don't shoot from theeerrrre!!!" In defense of that unidentified (ahem) voice JS had never got close before and never did again.
CH: Richard Rufus for blatantly elbowing Nicos Dabizas very early on in our first prem visit to Newcastle, straight red card but it was hilarious, and we got a draw.
    CH: Peter Shirtliff
CM: teenage Scott Parker clattered Roy Keane so hard at The Valley that the miserable vicious old git shook his hand as they both staggered to their feet
CM: Keith Jones for that pass at Wembley
RM: Johnny Johnny Robinson for too many classic moments to pick just one
LM: Garry Nelson for being the very top bloke in football, bar none
Up front: Yann Kermorgant for ultimate class (especially when he returned with other sides)
In Goal: Dean Kiely for gazumping Andy Todd on a house purchase (and getting a black eye for his trouble) - one of the funniest Charlton stories I've heard
  • Options
Kiely - Penalty save against nigels
    Young - Goal against Liverpool
Powell - Goal against Coventry (Although its because of who he was that I celebrated so much)
    Fortune - Relegating the Nigel's
    Rufus - Spurs tackles
    Dennis - Last minute
Jacko - Last minute Watford winner
Parker - Sticking Viera 6 feet in the air on NYD
Kinsella - Lifting the playoff trophy
Kyle Reid - Winner at Southend, absolute scenes.
    Mendonca - Wembley
  • Options
GK - Steve Brown (free kick save v Villa)

RB - John Humphrey (when he nutmegged a full back by playing a 1-2 off the guy’s foot before crossing for a goal)

LB - Sir Chris (his final appearance goal won me 80 quid)

CB - Steve Thompson (“I could’ve been killed!”)

CB - Peter Shirtliff (“and that could be the goal...”)

LM - John Robinson (his celebratory embolism against Wimbledon)

CM - Lee Bowyer (for the amazing pass to Robinson for that goal against Wimbledon)

CM - Scott Parker (for his pass to Matin Pringle in the Newcastle comeback)

RM - John Solako (for his dominant performance/ assists in a comeback against Tranmere)

CF - Jason Eull (slotting home a one-on-one at Highbury. I felt like I’d never seen us do that before!)

CF - Carl Leaburn (for scoring the single strangest, funniest goal I’ve ever seen. By some distance.)

Andy Patterson with the Gordon Banks save vs Palace? Got him POTY I recall....

Surely 1st sub has to be Keith Peacock?

Special mentions for Llera equaliser for 9 men addicks vs Swindon when Akpo was winning his own knock downs, Danny Mills ending Julian Dicks career with that contemptuous burst past him and forget which billy big bollocks we were playing but Kisch I think cleaned out one of their wonder boys in their 1st attack, Morts in the snow.

Greatest moment in Charlton's history, the goal that won the only major prize we've ever won, and no-one's mentioned it? A crisp volley, to boot.
But we're mentioning penalty kicks instead.
    And a goal celebration.

Well I guess that's what us old fellas are for.

If Duffy doesn't make the top 11 I'm resigning.
