    RIP

I remember him as part of the Scottish World cup squads in 1974 and 1978 when Scotland had a decent team.

I remember when I lost my Mum to cancer it really hit home how this disease takes no prisoners and seems to be everywhere you look. IMO the greatest achievement mankind could potentially make in the next 50 years would be to find a proper cure.

Sympathies to his family at a tough time, and thoughts to anyone on this forum battling or involved with someone battling cancer.

    RIP Sandy.

I don't know why but the response to his death brings to mind that of Tommy Burns. Two men who commanded enough respect to bridge the divide, something which is done far too infrequently.

Have just seen the news of Tito Vilanova as well and expressed my hatred for this disease. A horrible thing for anyone to have to suffer and my thoughts are with his family.

    Rest in Peace Sandy.
