(From the Watford Observer)
Albert Riera has been charged by the FA with improper conduct during Watford's 3-1 defeat at Charlton on Tuesday evening. The Spaniard was dismissed in the 81st minute after collecting two bookings and it is alleged his behaviour following the incident amounts to improper conduct. In being sent off at The Valley, Riera became the sixth Hornet to see red in Beppe Sannino's 28 games in charge this season. Riera has until 6pm on May 6 to respond to the charge.
Not surprised, he really played up. Hope he gets a further ban. Not surprising they have had six reds, cynical fouling team. Not very likable.

Johnnie Jackson's d8ckhead cousin :-0
He is only on loan from Udinese and due back there next season so would the ban still count...
Don't think even the most bias and ardent Hornet could argue with this ruling....
Riera was frankly lucky to still be on the pitch to receive his second yellow as there were several other incidents before that which could easily have seen yellow cards. His behavior after the card was in itself worthy of a red card. He wasn't far off assaulting the ref and even if he didn't physically strike him it was still extremely intimidating. Not to mention picking Poyet up off the ground by the shirt/hair!
Personally I am not sure if he made any contact with Poyet at all (and I had a very good view). But he definitely deserved to be off the field.
Might clean up the game a bit and lead to more respect?
But the guy was a walking red card for the previous 15 minutes, booting the ball at Wilson, barging him off the ball, a bad foul on Wilson after he'd been yellowed.
Anyone else think the yellow card was given for the incident the ref missed? :-D
Was it Halford who Kermogant kicked out at when he got sent off at the Valley last season?
Riera was clearly continuing on in a belligerent fashion after the decision, after the red card. To me it looked well out of order, OK the ref is only the ref with an ordinary house and car, not an ex premier league 'star', but if that is what Riera thought gave him precedent on the pitch then he is a disrespectful unsporting dickhead has been.
Agree with the above that Riera was at it all night, if he can play football, then he should've played football, not having the attitude that getting on with the game was beneath him. I don't know what Riera is like generally, but my total respect is with the referee for reminding him that all are equal on the pitch, and subject to the same rules.
But, I suppose that is pretty irrelevant as what swayed the ref was that he was fed up with his behaviour and a player with a little common sense would have been more careful. He seemed to be looking for trouble! And it was stupid - in what was a meaningless end of season game for them, to not walk straight off the pitch.
Wasn't there a Scottish player a few years who drew three reds, two of them for persistent afters off the pitch. He got a hefty ban. IIRC he was previously of good character - something must just have snapped.
As for DP, I dislike playacting but in his defence he didn't fabricate a situation - he just made the utmost of what the imbecile brought fair and square upon himself. Strange that the manager didn't sub the guy as it was obvious what was looming.
The ref certainly stood his ground in the face of extreme intimidation - it was a very unpleasant incident.
