Injury Help!!!

Hi so last summer i rolled my ankle during a training session it was horrific pain straight away but unlike most ankle sprains it didnt swell up or bruise but the pain remained for a nearly a month. I let it heal and returned to sporting activity whilst being strapped by a physio, my problem is despite me thinking it has healed its still so temperamental the slightest turn on a uneven surface even while out walking shopping and the shooting pain around my ankle and kind of up my shin comes back and sets me back a couple of weeks again. Iv had an Xray an MRI and both show no problems iv done strengthening work on the ankle and really am now lost to why its continuing to bother me nearly a year on. the physio i go to just keeps repeating the same stuff so shes not much of a help?

So just basically wondering has anyone had anything like this before?

  • Yes, mine was a chronic ligament strain. 3 ops over three years 20 years ago never helped at all. Steroid injections did help but wore off. Now 44 years old and feeling pain walking to the shops. Hope yours is not the same. Go see a specialist ASAP.
  • did your problem show up on an MRI as this is what has me and doctor baffled?

Never had an MRI scan, not sure MRI was around when I did mine but recall the surgeon saying he could see a problem from the x ray. Sorry I can't help anymore with that. I paid for my treatment privately and it cost thousands. What relieved pain for me was intensive stretching of my calf.
