cant believe The Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother missed was reading through and noticed not many people picked either, probably two of the best comedys over the last couple of years

They never came close to the top ten.

The shows that just missed out were Phoenix Nights , Family Guy and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Top 5 in title but top 10 in the post.

Unsure on the credentials of this poll tbh...

Top 3 are no surprise and am in general agreement with. Comedy IMO is just not as good as it used to be. Problem is a lot of the new / younger generation comedy just tries to get smutty laughs and that will only go so far.

But if it had been name your favourite comedy would the results have been just one programme?

See, i think Friends is great.

It will 100% appear on the top 10 worst. Divided opinion.

It's the laughter that i can't stand. It sounds so canned ( although apparently it's not )

Filmed in front of a live studio audience.

interview with Joeyother day re difference between Friends and Episodes and he said was hard to get used to not having any audience reaction when filming Episodes.

It will either be something like that or a sporting one.

I've just started watching Episodes and it's hilarious.

That is a solid top ten right there. Inspired to dig out some box sets now.

Can you do a top 5 that might inspire me to get down the pub or visit another country... i have about 4 movies and 6 comedy shows to watch now!!

    Good work beds!

I think the problem is the demand for instant results in everything. Rarely does comedy hit the spot from the get-go, it needs time to build, most of that top ten started life outside prime time and on BBC2 and C4 and was given time to mature.

I only had 2 of the top 10 but no real surprises certainly in the top 3. I've never seen the Inbetweeners so can't really comment on that.
