Egg on face for all those idiots who said "He won't play", "He'll rot on the bench" etc.

Premier League debut - clean sheet, MOM and an interview on Match Of The Day. Oh, and he is playing against Manchester United next week. That is why he went to Leicester....

    Well done Ben.

He would rot on the bench if it wasn't for Kasper's injury... that was the first league game Shcmeichel has missed since 2011 apparently.
Isn't that how any goalkeeper gets their break in a new side though? Through the first choice being sold or injured? Hamer was MOTM yesterday in a Leicester win away from home. As good a keeper Kasper is, I don't think it will be an easy decision for Pearson.
Exactly. Wonder if that poster would say Nick Pope is currently rotting on our bench.

Am I the only one who thinks that the so called "worldy" saves at the end were pretty routine in truth? The first shot was straight at him and a simple reflex reaction and then he smothered the second shot at close range. I liked Ben Hamer and wish him well, but I reckon he would have been hung out to dry if he hadn't saved them.

    Your right Davo.
    Routine if prem Keeper
    Good if champ Keeper
    Superb if !st division Keeper
    WORLDY if 2nd division keeper

Or if your names BEN HAMER a WORLDY because he was the first person i heard use the word on a regular basis!

Said at the time that he left that Ben's accurate distribution would be well appreciated in the Premiership. I didn't see much of the game, bar his great double save at the end, but he's certainly given Pearson a nice headache now, with 2 decent keepers to call on.

Well done Ben. Keep up the worldys!! :)

It's funny because the only complaint the Leicester fans had was that he kept kicking the ball out of play. Might have just been nerves?
    Narrower pitch!! ;-)

Spot on. Can see Leicester cashing in on Schmeichel and Ben getting the number one spot before too long.

Good luck to Ben. I wish nothing but success to any member of the squad which won us the Division 1 championship a couple of years ago.

Provided there is nothing growing in it he should be ok. Hope he grabs his chance with both hands. :-)

    Ben Hamer take your chance.
The irony is Kasper makes the same type of saves and also the same mistakes.
