Further update on George states he is still in intensive care but in a stable condition. Still taking it step by step, hour by hour , day by day. George still has a long way to go & is fighting strong. There are so many fund raising events being scheduled & requested and these will be posted during today so that anyone who wishes to attend/take part will have all the necessary details.

I'm happy to continue to post updates on here for those that are interested although, when you make a donation, you will receive said updates yourself via George's pal who is taking on this responsibility.

Thus far, £11,754 has been raised which is fantastic but I would urge Lifers to think about making a small donation to help one of our own . Even £5 will help support the family in their hour of need.

Latest update on George states that he is now off the ventilator & is breathing on his own without a life support !

Just heard some very positive news, George is continuing to make slow and positive progress and his recovery took another big step forward today with the hospital taking him off the critical list and he actually came round and hugged his mum briefly today :):):)

George still has a very very long way to go in his recovery process and he and his family need all our support during this next phase, still brilliant brilliant news ahead of the game tomorrow :)
Best news I've heard all week :)

OMG ! Brought a tear to my eye, madad !

Can't begin to believe how much that hug meant to his Mum.

Not able to make the match on Sunday but hoping loads of money is made for this worthy cause.

    Soon be back home, George.
  • It's great news and the fact that our money helps his mum have that moment is fantastic

Well done all involved in helping this young man

Have to admit to blurry wet eyes as well when I heard the news, George is such a great character. It's the 1st small positive in a very long recovery process, the poor lad has had quite extensive procedures and really needs our continued support.

Hope it's a great game this today.

Just back (only stayed for the first half). Good turnout. Hopefully will be a decent contribution to help George's parents, and a boost to the young man himself to know that so many of his fellow-pros rallied round. That's why it's still such a great game. Great to see JonJo take part - that's a real player, a genuine bloke - and of course applause to all. Very best wishes to George and family, and hoping that you're all home again soon.
