Gonna be tough to replace - who is gonna tap up players from other counties now ?
Ooooh  ! You are nawty !

    But I like you !
  • A brilliant servant to Surrey, as a player and as a coach. Lets hope his successor is far worse  :D
An amazing start to the days at The Oval as he warms up the wicket keepers. Ben Foakes is a top keeper because of him.
  • This thread does still exist then.
  • Goodness knows how Gus Atkinson has been selected for England. First ball last night flew over the keeper and went for 5 wides. His 3 overs went for 48 runs without taking a wicket.
  • Yesterday in the Vitality Blast, the Surrey/Gloucestershire game was called a tie, both sides scored 170 .. however, Glos lost fewer wickets .. could be time for a rethink about how results are assessed ?
  • Top of two tables. Surprised we've let the tumbleweed blow through this happy thread. 😊

I was at Lord's on Thursday, but couldn't bring myself to comment on this thread on a Surrey win. Amused that Sibley was playing, though was at the bar when he was batting so missed his array of scoops and reverse hits...

This is probably THE best bit of memorabilia I have, above all my Charlton player's tops and what was my programme collection.

The mighty Surrey won the John Player League in '94 down in Cardiff against Glamorgan.

After the game I managed to get this top, that season Hollioake was the leading wicket taker.  We had a phenomenal team during this era.

I still have the Ben Hollioake framed shirt you gave me several years ago.
Mrs  Blackpool still won't let me hang it in the front room though.

A shame, it would look very nice in your living room.

I made sure when we bought the gaff out here that one bedroom would be for all my stuff, I might get a top framed and hung.

Have got a few scorecards signed and framed that will definitely be hung up.

    This hasn't aged very well.

Back to the usual in the defeat.
  • Congrats Surrey. Three in a row. Somerset's season imploding in the space of a week.

I'm sure our Kent brethren will pop along to offer their congratulations to us. 😀

nope, I don't read this thread
  • What a brilliant season we have had, not helped by England resting players and saddened by the death of Graham Thorpe.
Our play against Durham epitomized  our season some from our squad stepping up and taking the game by the scruff of the neck, in this match it was Patel who made 137 when Surrey were 5 down.
  • 21 years since Surrey won the Blast. I'm not sure I could live with that sort of losing record  ;)

Easy when you understand that England call ups meant they had to play the second team.
