    Sorry, who is Jonathan Wilkes?
I know some of the players are probably boy band members or something, so I don't expect to know who they are, but what does this Wilkes guy do?

He's basically semi-famous just for being Robbie Williams's best mate.

Are you serious? He really isn't known for anything other than being a friend of a famous person?
He presented You've Been Framed for a bit. A job he got because he was just famous for being Robbie Williams's best mate.

In any type of game, this is a great goal.

He also presented SMTV, probably for the same reason

Davids took it a bit seriously in that second half!

Seedorf is still quality. One of my all-time favourite players.

Still think the 1983 soccer aid with Dennis Waterman, Bobby Charlton and Andrew Ridgely and Brian Clough as manager was the best

Adam Richmond trained for 2 years, specifically for soccer aid, and only played 5 minutes...according to the commentary.

Seedorf oozes class, bit awkward Stam getting the MOTM before Seedorf gets his hattrick on the whistle.. but who cares, good game in the end for the neutral. Mourinho born to win, I think lol.

Nothing to do with tonight's game, but thought I would reply to those who think Jonathan Wilkes is just "Robbie's mate". You asked what does he do? Well, he is a rather talented musical theatre performer, with a very good singing voice. Have seen him in Godspell, Rocky Horror Show, We will Rock You and Chicago. Having met him at stage doors and on a more personal level, when a friend of mine appeared with him in WWRY, I can say he is one of the nicest guys you could wish to meet, who never mentions Robbie unless a fan does. Getting back to Soccer Aid, he has scored in every game apart from this one, and was on the books of Everton as a youngster.

Is Paulie a real account? I assumed it was a joke account but people are talking as if it isn't?

That may be, but the question is essentially why is he famous enough to be on this.

Plenty of talented musical performers around without any level of fame.

    He's famous because he's Robbie Williams's mate.
  • Wasn't it his idea along with Robbie Williams? I'm pretty sure they both came up with the idea, so he has more right than anyone to be playing surely.

You are right, they did both think of the idea, so I would say that gives him as much "right" as any other celeb to play. Obviously, Robbie's fame attracts the big stars and the fans to watch, which as it raises so many money for UNICEF, that can't be bad!

Wasn't aware of that - if so, fair play to him, it's a good idea and a very good cause.

I only watched parts of it and found it entertaining . I thought Jose really captured the tongue in cheek spirit of it by trying to gatecrash Big Sam's team talk and fouling Murs. He went up in my estimation. As for the fame of the participants , remember Geldolf would not have made the line up at Live Aid on his musical ability.

Some of Mourinho's squad hardly played . I think Scottish comedian Kevin Bridges was only on for 2 minutes and didn't touch the ball and Man Versus Food star Adam Richman only played 10 minutes despite the fact that the commentators claimed he had lost weight and trained for 2 years to be able to play.

In terms of pro football and could Seedorf still do a job , I'm not so sure. I saw Davids a few times when he was at Barnet. Whilst he looked better than the other players. He didn't stand out as much as the Dutch trio of Davids , Seedorf and Stam did last night.

    Post of the decade.

He went back off as there were loads of pies and burgers left over from half time for him to scoff.

To be fair, that's the sort of answer I was hoping for.

I think Wilkes is a total tw*t of the highest order. He may have a talent for musical theatre, but it says more about him that he IS more famous for being Robbie Williams’ mate than that! He also clearly thinks he is a great footballer and should have been honoured that Davids was taking the game seriously, not be so disrespectful. He should bow to a player like Davids not mess about like a big kid. I wanted ROTW to win at that point. He is as famous a footballer as he is a performer. He shouldn’t even qualify for celebrity big brother IMO.
