Cameroon finally on their way to the World Cup!

A dispute over £61,000 wasn't enough, personally I think this is disgraceful and is just another sign of how money ruins his sport.

  • Isnt that 1 days pay for Yaya Toure ?
  • I'm sure this happened at the last World Cup with one of the African sides.
  • Bunch of arseholes. Isn't representing your country enough reward?

I'm assuming that, for some of them, 61k is life changing money.

Reminds me of when the Windies played England in a one-off game for the Stanford Cup, and every player was guaranteed a million dollars for the winners. Windies duly won, and some of the lesser paid Windies players put their winnings into accounts in Stanfords Bank - only for them to lose it all when it went bust some months later when it was found to be a 'Ponzi'.

Always wondered if they got the Stamford money or not.

I vaguely remember that - but wasnt it a more sombre reason like they had been involved in a plane crash that had wiped out half the team some months earlier and they wanted some financial payment to the families of the beareaved?
  • Absolute disgrace and full of greed. Makes it even worse when they are representing a third world Country, they should be ashamed of themselves!

The Togo team bus was attacked by rebels at the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola a few years later, unrelated though.
