But cannot.
My vote goes to Ricky Ponting. The memories of the 2005 Ashes came flooding back when I watched his masterclass recently.
He loved a row and a squabble didn't he. That culminated him being run out by a sub and then hurling abuse at the England balcony as he walked off.
What a warrior and a brilliant batsman; he certainly added spice to what was already a great test series. He does seem like an alright fella just a bad loser. Not much wrong with that I suppose.

  • Suarez - Scumbag but bagged me a load of money for winning my dreamteam league last year!
  • Ha Ha. Money forgives everything!
  • Craig Bellamy
  • Ashley Cole. Not a particularly good person from my experience, but I think Hodgson and Chelsea have both f****d up. He's the most consistent world class player England have and I genuinely feel sorry for him, even though I know he doesn't need pity and will find a top new club and earn even more money. But I can't help it. I think he's been treated poorly.

it's the same with most aussie cricketers to be fair!

Add Mitchell Johnson to that list, seems like a massive twat on the pitch (merv hughes moustache solidified this for me) which attracted the barmy army's famous song about him, but my word, what a bowler he's become! You can't hate on some one with that much frightening pace and talent. Seems a nice, calm bloke off the pitch though which actually made me feel sorry for him when the barmy army tore him a new one early in his career.
  • Agreed. It was funny though. Mind you, did he get his own back and some!
  • Mike Tyson - massively dislikable character but (when young) one of the most devastating boxers of all time.
  • Barton. The things he's done are disgusting but i do enjoy seeing him rub people up the wrong way.
  • Mayweather.

I know people who have met Ponting off the field and they say that he is an absolute diamond, can't do enough for you and is very self-deprecating - but I f-----g hated him when he played!

However, I can confirm that Matt Hayden is as much of an arsehole off the field as he was on.
  • Vinny Jones.

    quite like his acting.
  • Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic, i find their arrogance funny.
  • Maria Sharapova. All that grunting is so unnecessary (on a tennis court)
  • Lance Armstrong
for years I stuck up for him.
  • Shane Warne.

Thats nice to know.It would have been a let down if you said that Ponting was a bit of a prick.

  • Thierry Henry, really annoyed by the Ireland thing, but what a great player.

That was the best thing he ever did.
Other than that that I could not stand him.
  • Balotelli, Ibrahimovic, Luiz.

    Great fun, all of them.

Good call, as were Ponting and Warne.

I really like Dani Alves too, who I know a lot of people hate. He's a sneaky little cheat, but I find it entertaining the way he does it and he seems a good laugh.

    Acting?
  • I honestly can't think if anyone I ought not to like that I don't. The drug cheats, the rapist, the racist, I don't like any of them.

Sure. You didn't really think he was a footballer did you? ;-)

  • Shane Warne - Unplayable on his day. Was a joy to watch when bowling.
  • Bob Peeters...wanna hate him, got to love him (the initial battle of conscience took a week - he was my ace card used to beat Millwall supporters with - "wow, ur fans are rude, I see one of your top boys is even playing upfront").

And my gosh he was pony

Ramos and Pepe, a class centre back pairing for the biggest club in the world but one tackles almost as bad as Scholes half the time(Ramos) & the other spends much of the game rolling on the floor like the sniper has just got him.

Should hate them but find them funny.
  • Maria Sharapova. All that grunting is those clothes are so unnecessary (on a tennis court)

    Fixed ;-)

  • Any Scottish sportsman / woman who has made a mint and blathers on about how hard done by they are or gets on some pro Scottish sense of entitlement bandwagon .

    What about Ched Evans?
